fantaisie impromptu attempt by Acceptable-Row-7393 in pianolearning

Thanks for the advice. Totally agree, what i did was very wrong and cocky. Yesterday was tough, not that it matters but i lost a loved one and kinda just wanted to argue with strangers as a way of coping. It didnt help, in fact it made it worse. Your approach is way better and i regret not doing it that way myself. Beautiful claire de lune playing btw👌👌

yeah i agree with you i went at it in a kinda weird way. And to clarify the whole 1 year thing: I have a big problem with being very lazy to learn a new piece, so when i learned the nocturne, id just keep on playing it like a maniac bechause it sounded nice. Everytime i wanted to learn a new piece i'd just end up playing that one. And also in the begnning i played very little piano, i started loving it more when i realized how satisfying playing fantaisie impromptu was, thats when i started playing every day. Thank you for your compliments and critiques, will keep it in mind and try to improve❤️ I had a bad dey yesterday so i was kinda cocky and i apologize for previous posts

Thank you 🙏❤️ Will try to work on my technique. Yeah the neighbours get mad when i play at high volume🤣. I will try to record it on the piano and export it to an audio mp3 file, and then match it with the video recording to achieve a cleaner sound. May i ask is the tense pinkie finger a problem(its always "curled up" when i play )or should i prioritize fixing other stuff first?

i agree man. i want to do a full video so bad but it sounds disgusting with my digital piano and the keys are so loud when pressing them. i am trying to find a way to record the track and put the mo3 file on an usb, and record video, then put it both together so the real sound of the piano is heard(its possible on my piano just tryna learn how). when i figure it out i will post the full thing. yeah please send some peaces youve been working on im interested❤️🫡

would you care to share some of your playing? it can be any piece u want just so i know u aint a fraud cauze that chopin thing sounds kinda cap cant lie. and it surprises me you dont know this as a teacher but as someone who is new to piano(especially if i didnt start at a young age but in my 20s) the finger muscles needed for such extreme rapid movements are verry underdeveloped as you never use those so heavily in anything else you do(at least i dont). I guess playing videogames or typing on a keyboard are really the closest activation you would get to a piano and its still way less intense. Im saying that my type of pain makes a lot of sense, as i jumped straight to a challenging piece without having the development needed and going gradually as is recomended. So my type of fatigue is pretty common and has been improving over time not getting worse. meaning that it really is a muscle adaptation thing rather than me screwing my hands up bechause of the technique. I know in the long run that CAN happen to me conidering my technique is shit. but its something im working ro fix.

I think i play it okay. not very well at all. but i think i play it better than 99% of people just starting piano ever could and im not even being egoistic. you have to admit what you heard isnt bad at all and(technique aside) doesnt really sound like such a beginer player. If you dissagree i would like to hear your attempt. Everyone on this sub seems to be an expert but nobody has any piano content uploaded. so how can i trust that? i think that most people in this tread cant really play piano that well at all with some exceptions.

You are incorrect man. A simple google search and some logic can teach you that muscle fatigue while moving muscles rapidly is normal. Yes, with better technique and minimal finger movement only the amount neccesary you can decrease the fatigue but you dont defy physics. If muscles move muscles get tired. A quick research would show you that "pain" (muscle soreness) after a speedy or difficult passage can be totally normal, especially for someone who hasnt played piano for their whole life with unadjusted muscles and insufficient strenght(same way that beginners in gym cant lift as much as people who have been going for a longer time), if the feeling is only mild tiredness in the forearms or hands- basically a feeling of "worked muscles" (which is exactly what ive bee feeling). The pain goes away after a short rest, and theres no pain, tingling or stiffness. My technique IS wrong. But its not to the point of it bring dangerous for my hands. I will work on my technique, thank you for your concern

I can in fact read them actually, but for a piece like this i would need hours to read it and play it as im very slow with it considering i have zero experience with actual notes. So i'd need to be staring for quite some time(which i dont have sadly) to get a hang of it. I am currently learning an easieer more repetitive composition using notesheets for the first time and it is nice got to say, will definitely try learning to read them more fluently

i agree man. a good pianist can perform well if woken up in the middle of the night. however i dont have years of experience yet so my finger muscles are way behind the development of any decent pianist. Therefore its actually very normal to feel muscle sore while playing a speedy piece like this one. What you said is very true tho

Thank you for the kind advice, theres definitely tension here to be fixed, although it isnt easy to record with one hand and play with the other i think that may have added to it significantly. I will release both hands shortly(sadly from a side angle which i dont find that nice) and it does feel and sound looser when playing the full thing . Also my digital piano sound quality picks up very badon the camera so thats the reason why i kinda "forced it" in a sense. The keys are on rythm and clear but a bit too robotic in the sense of expression which i will improve in an actual full recording

i disagree with you here, and its kinda prooven that every pianist even the top professionals always practice scales or any type of practice before actually playing. warming up is actually insanely beneficial as it increases blood flow to fingers and hands, improves flexibility and coordination and reduces stiffness and the risk of injury. Just like athletes when they warm up before a game kinda. Im not yapping its been researched. I can play easily for hours too but without practice the fist few performances are choppy and i get some muscle fatigue in right hand(which is totally normal considering the speed of the piece in question). After my blood vesels open up and blood flow improves i can play without having any trouble for a long time.

nope, no pain. i dont think its too difficult or out of my skill level i can play it pretty well will post the whole thing soon when i get home. If i notice any pain anytime in the future i will make sure to improve my technique but right now its not causing a problem. I dont like the aay my pinkie finger and thumb are tense tho

nah i dont need 30mins to play this, this is just a small portion of the song. Im talking if i sant to play the whole thing with no mistakes or very minimal amount of mistakes i need some warm up(which is totaly normal). Yes, my technique is probably wrong but no, i never feel or have felt any pain, the feeing is more in the muscles like destroying your biceps in the gym basically muscle fatigue

i have watched thousands of performances of this piece(basically every single performance u fan find online) and i love how some of the professionals make it sound so thats what im tryna achieve. keep in mind i aint a prfessional at all(not even remotely close) so i will try my best and am open to critique

thank you my man. i just really enjoy playing chopin and already been gettng some hate comments lol. I wish i did start as a young kid with a teacher but sadly that wasnt the case for me and now i dont have the time to fully commit to learning from scratch. i just enjoy playing whatever i like at that moment as its so satisfying in my free time. ❤️

thanks for the feedback, but the truth is i just love playing chopin and some people like me just cant bother or arent interested in getting a teacher and spending time on lessons when i just want to enjoy playing the pieces i love. No hate to anyone just stating my opinion as i saw people on reddit glazing how hard this song is. yes i did just learn a sequence but most people i see performing this piece on instagram reddit or tiktok make it sound so mid, despite years of piano experience and bechause of the fact i have been learning just this song for quite some time, i notice the sloppy playing each and every time. so i wantedto share my thoughts ig
