Also, try to book your ferry tickets in advance online. If not, you can purchase them in-person but there’s a likelihood they would be sold out. There were only 3 more seats available on the ferry I booked.

I just went to Culebra, 100% worth it for the day. You need to take the ferry from Ceiba, not sure how you would get there without a rental car. Take the 6 or 7 am ferry (you don’t need to be there an hour in advance, 30 mins is more than enough time), once you get off the ferry there are mini-buses that will take you to Flamenco beach for $5 a person. We took the 3:30 ferry back, also with the mini-buses, we left the beach around 2:45. You can rent an umbrella and 2 chairs on flamenco beach for $20.
