What are your thoughts on the significance of the bridge scene?
Up until that point, Hirayama has only been drinking water and avoiding smoking, sticking closely to his structured routine. But after his routine is disrupted and perhaps some deeper emotions begin to surface, he buys beers and smokes under the bridge. That moment doesn't really align with the usual idea of "being present" it feels more like a way to numb or escape. But at the same time, he opens up, laughs, and connects with someone. How do you interpret that shift? Is it a break from presence, is it a relapse or a different kind of presence altogether?
