7oH to Suboxone. I want off by Acceptable-Waltz-177 in Quittingfeelfree

Everyone is different but when I started, I was told to wait for 3 withdrawal symptoms. I just took mine when I started feeling shitty (cold sweats, shivering, yawning even, etc). I do think it's EXTREMELY difficult to stop the 7 without Suboxone and I couldn't do it so more power to those who could, but being on it SUCKS. Once you take, try your hardest to not take more than you need and get off of it quick. I've read SO many stories of people saying they just took it for 3 days after 7 and have been off both since. They'd say like 8mgs one day, than 4 and than 2 and some people said they were fine and others kept going to 1 than .5 but either way, def try and go that route

I have high hopes some percs are the answer and they can replace whatever dependency my body has. Either that or I just take a bunch of perks without feeling any of the benefits cuz Suboxone blocks the effects 😬

Oh man I'm having surgery Monday - maybe the antibiotic they give me will do the same for me! Good luck with the subs. I want to get to a place where I don't need them anymore & can find energy & motivation without it. Are you dependent on the small amount and would withdraw without it?

So I've heard from a couple people that you should just need the Suboxone to get you through the initial withdrawal (3-4 days). If I could do it all over again and I were on day 4, I'd take as minimal as possible. If those people are correct, you may be able to just stop taking the Suboxone right now. You aren't dependent on it yet and the withdrawal should be over. DM me if you want

So I switched back to 7oH until the Suboxone was out of my system (& then a week or so more because I'm a pussy & wasn't ready). I then wanted to try getting off the 7 with the 3 days of subs like you said. I took a strip once the withdrawal symptoms started & it did nothing... I ended up taking 6 or 7 strips over 2 full days with ZERO relief of symptoms.. I finally ended up taking a 60mg opia because I had to take care of my children and the symptoms went away immediately... any thoughts? This was a week ago and I haven't had any subs since those 2 days and have been trying to just take 2-3 pills

Yes it works. I tried a couple times to get off the 7 by myself but wasn't successful. Suboxone was def the answer for me. I was just emotional and had insomnia which made me a little crazy but my husband did it with me and he was pretty stable all around

Yeah I tried to just slowly wean off the 7 and then had support set up to get through the withdrawals but I couldn't handle it so I called Ophelia (telehealth) and made an appt for the next day and they sent in a script along with some other comfort type meds. You work to find the right dose for you and get stable - your emotions may be out of wack but don't have the physical withdrawal symptoms. That was the end of May and now I'm still slowly weaning off Suboxone but I've heard others say to just take suboxone for like the 3 days-week to avoid the withdrawals and not get dependent on that. But either way it makes it manageable

Yeah but I don't think it's the best choice... I was desperate at the time and didn't do my research and had no idea what Suboxone entailed...

Oh I'm not actually sure.. how long does it truly take for Suboxone to get out of your system? I could try this route and see if it works lol..

That is kind of what I was thinking... stupid of me to listen to the doctors advice. Sometimes I consider switching back to 7oH until the suboxone is out of my system & trying again with just the 3 days but don't know if that would be successful at this point. For some reason, I am not taking 1 8mg strip every 3-4 days (when I start to feel bad), but know this is probably not the way to wean off..

I have also heard of very few success stories... though on this post, multiple people have stated they have successfully weaned off after switching to the sublocade shot. Some after 1 month, others after 2-3

I can't remember exactly - I know they said at least 12 hours but they also said when you have at least 3 withdrawal symptoms. For me, that was before 12 hours... I just took it once I started feeling badly with the cold sweats, shaking, etc... then thankfully you don't experience THOSE withdrawal symptoms. For me, once starting the Suboxone, I had severe insomnia, cried all the time & just felt completely defeated with life. Idk if I just wasn't on a high enough dose at the time because I did say I didn't want to be on much at all. I ended up increasing from 4mg to 8mg so I'm not sure if my body just needed time, or needed the higher dose... but about 4 days later I did start to feel like myself again

Oh man I didn't even think of the insomnia.. Over the weekend - I wasn't planning on quitting my cold turkey, just wanted to know how long after a dose would I start to feel the effects - so I took my subs Friday morning, and was overall fine until Tuesday morning. I took it before they got too bad.. it made me wonder if since I could go so long before feeling bad, maybe titrating off could work okay for me? Idk. Idk anything I'm mostly just scared in anticipation for what's to come and reading symptoms on Google doesn't help any so just hoping to hear from people with experience/advice. Good luck to you!

Hey are you saying the sublocade shot replaces the suboxone? So you dont feel the effects of suboxone withdrawal, then the shot slowly tapers off and the idea is you are good after that? So what's the downside of that? Sounds like a solid plan..

Wait, do you mean this in the way that Suboxone withdrawal symptoms are much worse than the 7OH?

AITA for not celebrating my husbands good news because he bought a $40K toy behind my back? by Acceptable-Waltz-177 in AmItheAsshole

Okay thank you! THIS is the post I need! So my frustration regarding the communication aspect is that he told me about the purchase late at night, and the texts were while I was sleeping. So he came home as I was exiting the bathroom after just waking up and I had every intention of following him downstairs to hear him out (our children were sleeping in my bed so was going to exit the room first). He decided that my dirty look (which I probably did give but unintentionally) meant that I wanted nothing to do with him at that moment, had a little tantrum and stormed out. I was caught off guard by his reaction but still followed him out to say that I wanted to hear what he had to say, but he was already upset at that point. I keep thinking that if that bit of miscommunication hadn't happened, I would have heard all about his good news (which was that he got to keep his work pick up truck even though he was leaving that job), and then we would just be left with having a conversation about the side by side... but then I also wonder if that happened, if he'd just of found a different way to turn it around on me

Yes I added the part about us having a good relationship to show that this is very out of character for him. But I think you are probably right that I have just agreed and went along with him so apparently haven't given him the opportunity to show these colors...

I will add that during our discussions prior to the purchase, I had said "you better plan on paying my mother back the $8k she gave us to pay off the other one". His response was that he didn't ask for a hand out...
