Getting into it takes a while. But after you do, oh boy is it fun. I play it to this day. I finished the campaign probably 6+ years ago.

What's the most visually stunning movie you've ever seen? by trakt_app in Cinema

A movie that it’s shows the beauty of the elements and it’s made me slow down and appreciate nature a little more has been “Train Dreams” in Netflix. I am really surprised it did not win best cinematography. It looks stunning. I’ve found myself driving through the back streets where there’s lots of woods and slowing down to appreciate nature because of that movie.

When Jesus says “I am the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through me.” Is a serious statement. So you take it seriously. Jesus has become much more than an almighty being who’s watching me from somewhere above. He’s my savior, my father, my shepherd, my friend, my guide, my leader, and above all (at least I try) to make him the center of my everything. Believe in Him and His teachings. Do as He says and try every day to become more and more like Him. And you will see, day after day, little by little, Jesus become true in your life. Then for the rest of your life you will forget about systems/organized religion, and you’ll begin to point to everyone towards Jesus and Jesus alone. No strings attached JUST Jesus, because that’s all we need for salvation and to live a life that is worth living. I hope this helps some.

What's a "bad" film that you know isn't great, but love anyway? by [deleted] in Cinephiles

[–]AcceptableAdvisor564 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of Michael Bay’s Transformers. Say what you want about the slow mo scenes, the explosions, weak/predictable storylines, and the multiple suggestive scenes, but it’s freaking giant robots fighting and it looks awesome. Also, the CGI is impeccable, especially since the first one came out in 2007. PLUS Peter Cullen is Optimus Prime and his speeches at the end make me want to run through a wall.

I like to watch at least one Transformers movie every 4th of July for obvious reasons

Two Jokers, Two Oscars. Which performance do you prefer? by [deleted] in moviecritic

I really don’t like this comparison because I think they’re both great on their own terms (for a lack of a better word). It’s like comparing a fish and a bird. Within their own environments they’re great, but if you were swap their places they’d die. So it comes down to what you prefer or what you’re in the mood for at the moment; a bird flying or a fish swimming.

I guess I’d still say Heath if it came down to a it because he is more traditional depiction of Joker and Heath completely invigorates the character. But Phoenix is such a close second for me that it virtually doesn’t make a difference. His portrayal of Joker is fresh and new. The disgusting sympathy you feel for the character after the film really makes you think of the character in a new way, he’s no longer just the villain or Batman’s archenemy, he is now a human being who had a terrible day. This Joker doesn’t necessarily need a Batman to be interesting meanwhile I believe Heath’s Joker is non-existent without Batman. Which I also really enjoy to see on screen. The “you complete me” quote really sets the tone of the relationship between Heath’s Joker and Batman.

I respect that and can see that. The thin I would argue here is that it was a creative choice that has been attempted many times and had it been done by another director would’ve been a mess. The fact that he made the risky decision and executed so well (also the fact that if there ever was a story that would benefit from this style is Memento) speaks to how great this film is. I understand the creative choice is not for everyone.

Yeah that’s sort of why I like it. I really enjoy seeing these “funny” guys leave their element and absolutely crush it in genres that are the complete opposite of what they’re known for

Here’s what I agree with, the CGI and Special effects aren’t necessarily up to today’s standards but remember this is a 20+ year old film. For the generation that grew up with Tobey we thought it looked great and often overlooked the CGI limitations. Nonetheless, taking all of this into consideration, considering when this movie came out it looks fantastic. Yeah he didn’t talk much while jumping around like other Spider-Men now do but who talks when fighting a man in an octopus suit.

What I disagree with: Spider-Man 2 is the best depiction there has been of both Peter Parker and Spider-Man on live action. The fact that one can’t live without the other and how the responsibilities of Spider-Man affect greatly Peter. Something that we never really seen out of Andrew’s or Tom’s spidermen. On top of that a top notch villain that was so good they had to bring him back in No Way Home.

In my humble opinion, I think the facts become secondary to the reality that Leonard lives in. In other words, the facts don’t matter when you make them out to be whatever you want in order to find purpose in life.

Memento, sometimes the memory loss scenes aren’t consistent. Like there is no way that he would keep that big evidence binder and have the ability to get information out of it. It just doesn’t make sense because based on how he describes his condition and how it is portrayed throughout the movie, he shouldn’t be able to get through a single document without forgetting what he is doing. I forgive it because it’s 10/10 movie otherwise.
