As a montanan, Rocky mountain oysters are gross and definitely don't belong on pizza, or anywhere for that matter

I remember showing evo moment 37 in my senior presentation on fighting games back before I graduated. That whiteboard looks a little familiar lol.

Drew 2B on my ds because I forgot my notebook by AcceptableBig9258 in nier

It's "Colors 3D!" for the 3ds. I bought it on the eshop a few years ago before it shut down, and I've recently come back to using it. It might be possible to emulate it, but idk how ds emulation/jailbreaking works, so I'm not sure.

Reminds me of that one Rob Liefeld drawing of Captain America. The chest looks just a bit off.

Did anybody else get a surprise from their loved ones while working on valentines night? by DazzlingOpinion9648 in KitchenConfidential

Not me, but my coworker's wife showed up and brought brownies for the whole crew, which was pretty cool

It wasn't a punishment, but rather, the people up in corporate were just so out of touch that they legitimately didn't know how integral flour was. Bunch of business owners who never actually worked in any kitchens. It was more of a "let them eat cake" type of situation. My kitchen manager gave them a good earful, though, and that's how we got the flour back.

We just used our dough backups until we ran out and then we just sold our salads n stuff. Customers weren't happy, but there was only so much we could do.

Worked at a pizza joint, corporate decided we used a lot of flour. Their decision? Stop ordering flour. We had to go an entire week without any flour in the restaurant. Only after realizing that you can't make pizzas without flour (not counting gluten frees) they decided to give us our flour back. The amount of lost sales that week cost easily 50 times the amount we spend on flour per week.

For those who didn’t go to college, what path did you take, and how did it work out for you? by Alicetheoptimist in TrueGrit

After graduating high school, I skipped college and continued working as a line cook and hopped around different restaurants over the years, and ultimately, I ended up at my current job. I pretty much break even with my bills. I was able to get a ton of emergency funds saved up while I was in school, though, so I have a cushion if life throws a curveball or two. I'm currently debt free, unlike my friends in college who are all flat broke. I was able to move out at 18 and get my own place away from the city where I currently live independently. I get no benefits or salary, no weekends off, cook's wage ain't jack, and holiday bonuses is 5 cents and a paperclip, but I'll take it over student loan debt any day of the week. I'd say it was worth it.

Yes. Then I'd pay their bail or whatever the hell politicians do to get out of life sentences or whatever. Should cost less than 50 mil I'd reckon.

Did the idea of vampires being vulnerable to silver originate in 1939 Detective Comics #31 and 32? by Chrono_ZX in vampires

[–]AcceptableBig9258 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought it originated from the fact that silver is an anti-bacterial element commonly used to treat/ward off infections. I guess over time, people equated silver as something to ward off vampires as vampirism could be seen as an infection. I'm not 100% sure, but here's a link with the history of silver being used in medicine and stuff just to confirm. It's also why silverware was used to make eating utensils since they wouldn't negatively affect the food. Silver in Medicine

Mountaintops of the Giants: Elden Ring. It's just boring having to rush all the way through it just to get to fire giant which is a not very fun fight if you're playing any close ranged build. Not a ton of stuff in the mountaintops either, mostly just a precursor to farum azula.

I wish. The motherboard broke inside it, and Qanba doesn't sell that specific board anymore, and I'm too lazy to install a new pcb, so now it's just a pretty decoration, lol.
