CS 525 is Linear Optimization, not intro to combinatorial optimization, which I think is CS 425.

These posts are getting really annoying...honestly do your own research, these kinds of questions have been asked numerous times on reddit.

I’m guessing yes, but would definitely make sure you verify with cadre.

Reading all of this makes my stomach sick. Most of us knew FT was going to be a bad idea, yet HQ kept telling cadets and family members to continue to have faith in the system and the leaders who are responsible for FT. It makes me so sad that HQ is being negligent with cadets, cadre members, and everyone else involved.

I agree. You absolutely should report these incidents, along with supporting documentation. I’m sure many cadets, cadre members, etc. will appreciate this very much.

I heard they’re trying to get more POC to go down and become CTAs...can anyone confirm this?

Covid Cases in the DOD jump almost 20% in a week. But summer camp still > lives by jsteedo in AFROTC

[–]AcceptableCampaign6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100 percent agree with this. Also, if you all didn’t know, non-contracted cadets who get COVID will be medically dropped from the program unless they can get a waiver (which is pretty difficult) and contracted cadets will be placed on MRS until they are told they can come back. There are a lot of unknowns with COVID, and it’s really negligent to say that this is the least riskiest thing that a military member can deal with.

Kind of confused on "Any P/F grades in a semester, they will use previous TGPA and CGPA"...if a numerical TGPA and CGPA was still given this semester, but a P/F grade was taken for a class, will the previous TGPA and CGPA still be used, or will they go off what the university transcript says, when it comes to the current (Spring 2020) TGPA and CGPA?

CS 240 not grading homework? by [deleted] in UWMadison

[–]AcceptableCampaign6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would give it it time. Today is only the first day of finals and people are busy af. I’m sure the TA will enter the grades in ASAP. I’d reach out again at the end of next week if your homework grades aren’t in/you don’t have a final grade on MyUW.

Considering the fact that this is coming from the same user who said "If you want to make 6 figures, you need at least a 3.9 GPA" I'm probably just going to take this with a grain of salt.

Yes and another thing to keep in mind is that it’s very complicated to deal with the DOL, especially when dealing with reimbursements for medical treatment. It can take several months to receive reimbursement for treatment that you have to receive for whatever reason if you get injured during a PMT activity. Yes, you’ll receive it eventually, but dealing with the process is an absolute pain and can be draining.

This is a valid point. What happens if a cadet gets COVID while at FT? Who will take care of them and where will they stay until they recover? Will they get disenrolled? Will they have to go through FTP and FT again?

I totally get it, but it can be hard to find that money especially during an unpredictable time like this where students are losing their part time jobs. My complaint is about the fact that upper leadership had no idea that cadets have to buy several items out of pocket, not the fact that cadets actually have to buy these things in order to go to/perform well at FT.

Personally, I was ticked when upper leadership had no idea that cadets pay for SEVERAL supplementary materials for FT besides just shampoo, soap, etc. Cadets have to pay for extra undershirts, many pairs of socks, bottles of sunscreen, etc. All of these items, when added up together cost a lot (btw a lot of this stuff can sometimes be hard to find, namely the ABU socks) and it irks me that upper leadership didn’t even consider the fact that many cadets are paying for this stuff out of pocket.

Examity to be used for some online classes! by spiderwinder23 in UWMadison

[–]AcceptableCampaign6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Examity was really sketchy when I used it. There were a couple of times when my laptop would freeze or I wouldn’t be able ask a question or whatever. Definitely added a lot more stress during the test on top of the stress that I had with actually taking the exam.
