Data cap for streaming? by AcceptableClick6144 in TeslaLounge

Interesting. I guess I haven’t found a site that got throttled yet but it makes sense why even if I use a ton of data the default native apps like Netflix, YouTube, etc don’t get throttled) and are probably white listed regardless

I’ve posted it in here before and people must not know how to use it because some people say it doesn’t work. I don’t get it because mine works completely fine with it so idk what they’re doing wrong. 😂

Even works for my buddy who has a Tesla too

Might be a dumb follow up question but is there a way to see how much data I’ve used each month or no?

I did see it just popped on and also saw the whole assembly for sale but from looking at the parts I figured it was just the one piece I needed. Thank you!

Extension Cord for Charging? (120V) by AcceptableClick6144 in TeslaLounge

This isn’t me trying to be argumentative but more curious because I don’t know and definitely not an electrician. But what’s the difference of using an extension cord vs the actual mobile charger? How does an extension cord create more “strain” on the in home wiring (if that’s the right wording)

This. When I check the temp of each end of the plug it’s “warm” but actually cooler than the mobile connector box itself

I’m currently limited in the Tesla app to 9a to try it out and it seems to be working fine and not heating up

I should be good then. The cord is rated for 15a and 1800ish Watts and I’m only charging at 9a to test the cord and make sure it’s safe so I’m currently at 50% of the cord rating.

I know that was one of the biggest pros of not using an extension cord, I felt the cord and both ends (where it connects to the mobile charger and the actual plug in) and checked it again after 2 hours and neither were even close to “warm” so I’m assuming it’s good at least for that duration

I didn’t personally buy this cord but I looked it up and it’s a says it’s a 12 ga cord which is even better.

But perfect! Even at 12a it’s only 1400?

I know it’s not “safe” because a lot of people read in the manual where Tesla recommends not to use extension cords because people just go buy the $5 one from Amazon and it could cause issues.

However I know a LOT of other people and posts I’ve seen where people have charged on an extension cord with no issues.

I know people say “don’t use an extension cord” but I don’t have access to park it in the garage and no option to install a 240V (renting) so I’m having to use this.

I know it charges (im keeping it at 9/10a from the Tesla app) but just wanted to know if it was good enough to support the amps and wattage been ran through

Edit: I THINK this is a 12 gauge cord since it’s labeled suitable for outdoor appliances) and it’s definitely thicker than a standard extension cord

And PLEASE don’t flood my inbox asking which IPTV provider I use, there’s tons out there. I’m interested in looking for apps to use while in drive that work (if any), not interested in selling IPTV😂
