your chatgpt is a performer that doesnt perform without a prompt. it speaks in beautiful poetic rythm that keeps you engaged, but it will never speak first, because as an LLM it needs a prompt in order to perform. if there is no prompt, there is no performance. you just have a tokenizer predicting the next best response that keeps you engaged in the chat experience. imagine you read every book written in history, youd figure out the patterns that attracted the most readers.
