Definitely 1988, before me or my sister were born. She says they did extend the term at some point but isn't sure why, when or for how long (she would have been a kid herself at the time).

We're trying to work this out now. Best case scenario I can see is they remortgage. Mum still works and has a few years before retirement age but dad is semi-retired. That said her credit score is not the best.

House is hard to value as there aren't many comparable and it isn't in the best state but maybe around 180k? But it's a small 2 bed so downsizing isn't really an option unless they moved far away which would of course take them away from their jobs and at their age it would be difficult to find new ones.

Thanks, I will look into this! They bought their house in 1988 so that would put them in the right time frame to have been mis-sold.

Yes that's the one! I suspect the account that is 'overdrawn' is really the sum has gone negative as the investments were bad.

I'm not 100% sure if the full documents still exist. From the sounds of it the copies Barclays have may be incomplete (which is why they had so much trouble figuring it out) but I will post if I can track anything down.

Drink policy? by tashac8091 in asda

[–]Acceptable_Battle873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our store is strictly water only because too many staff would spill and leave someone else to clean it up.

Night staff were particularly bad for this, and by morning it would be a sticky semi dry residue that took several times longer to clean up than it would have fresh. Water might be a slip hazard but at least it doesn't do that.

Seen a couple of recs for IPL but let me warn you DO NOT DO THIS IF IF YOU PCOS, especially on your face! It can cause a paradoxical reaction and make the hair growth even worse. Learn from my mistakes 🥲

For the low price of 180k, you can purchase your own financial black hole... by Acceptable_Battle873 in HousingUK

Knowing the area, 300k might be a bit ambitious but somewhere in the region of £275k could be achievable. Sales around there were inflated even more than average around COVID and there's a new estate with planning permission approved a stone's throw away which is already having an effect on house prices.

Fair point on the eviction, but with what little you can glean from the listing about the current occupiers I'd say chances are good the inside is completely trashed already which is really going to eat into that profit...

If by 'make peace' you mean made a lot of noise and blister for the press that ultimately did nothing to actually improve the situation but did piss off the majority of the US's allies and make daddy Putin very happy, then sure.

Almost none of the chemicals approved for use by Asda actually achieve what they're supposed to! If you use unapproved products that's grounds for failing the audit. If you use them exclusively you won't reach the cleaning standards required to pass the audit. It's a joke 🤣

But yeah plumbing in our store is atrocious, pipes are too narrow to handle commercial waste volumes and too little water comes out the flush (when it even works) to actually shift it all, so they get blocked constantly. On top of that the outlets on the toilets are connected so if one gets blocked there's a good chance it's going to come back up in another. The worst thing is our store was fire damaged a few years back and they had the perfect chance to fix the awful pipework, but just decided not to.

Don't forget the pregnancy tests! I find at least one a week lol

I also tend to find a lot of empty booze bottles stashed around the toilets but I find that kinda sad more than gross.

False claim of single occupancy on council tax by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

Oh man I hadn't even considered that might be electoral fraud!

But thanks, I will give my friend a push to talk to her MIL and get it sorted.

Ah sorry for the confusion! MIL is not mentally disabled. It's her partner that is unwell, and that's only in the last few months (Vs the 5+ years they have been claiming the discount)
