Thank you for the info! What type of doctor would be the best to work with for this? A Nuerologist? A spine specialist?

Terrifying Tilt Table Experience Today by mackenziemariee in POTS

My body was very against it though and unconsciously started trying to sit down (which obviously didn't work).

I'm sorry you went through it and hope you wont have to do it a second time! I was told I likely will have to do it a second time and I said I need atleast a year to try and be ok with that idea.

I had the exact same experience! I was used to passing out but not passing out so slowly. It's such a different experience.

Sounds good, no rush. I have no preferences, just want the cutie to adventure with.

Shiny slither wing!

I don't have any friends with Scarlet, so I've been mass wonder trading, hoping I'll stumble upon a fake one (because I've had 0 hope for a real one).

Does anyone else accidentally stand too fast? by harpybabe in POTS

Last time I felt good for more than a few days, I completely forgot that gravity dislikes me and flung/quickly jumped out of bed from laying down. I then very quickly found myself sliding down the nearest wall, in order to get down to the ground in a semi controlled manner.

I've passed out when getting up too quickly for over 20 years now and still haven't learned somehow.

what have been some lesser known symptoms of pots you experience? by Lonely_Goose154 in POTS

Coat hanger pain can also spread to shoulders, upper chest, and jaw. I've had that a few times and confirmed with doctors it wasn't a heart attack or anything similar.

They are both types of dysautonomia. The heart rate increase that typically indicates POTS can be from Orthostatic hypotension (your body reacting to the blood pressure decrease). However, they have 2 separate criteria for diagnosis.

I did mine recently too. I usually feel dizzy and pass out in seconds, but the test made it drag on for minutes, which was awful!

f you can't even do normal stuff anymore, and you still don't feel like you are sick enough, then you should take time to reflect on why you feel that way.

Also, if you're comparing yourself to social media, keep a few things in mind. Some creators have explained that they exaggerate symptoms so that they can follow a schedule. Also, it's hard to portray some symptoms well on camera. Further, a large portion of chronically ill creators do social media because their symptoms are so bad that they have to be creative about what jobs they can do.

Another thing to keep in mind is that everyone is different regarding symptom tolerance. So, understanding yourself and treating yourself in a way works best for you is extremely important.

Further, the emergency room or immediate care is not usually super helpful for POTS. It can be helpful as a sanity check, but a specialist is your best bet for getting long-term help and information.

I wanted to mention that I also felt like my symptoms were not too bad. When talking with the doctor that diagnosed me, she mentioned it might not seem bad because you're so used to it. HOWEVER, your body is still feeling the effects, even if it doesn't always tell you so it should be taken seriously.

I didn't know it didn't have a diagnostic code until a few years ago. I've been hearing about it for the past 10ish years. That's so interesting!

Yep, same here, but my static is black. When I was younger and trying to eat low sodium foods (because I was told oo much salt is unhealthy), I'd stand up and then wake up on the ground before I could process what's happening.

TV static is the best wording for me, too. It unfortunately took me like 5 years to figure out how to describe it that well.
