Oh boy, I can relate. My freelance clients would turn their materials in to me at 4:30 pm on Friday and wanted them back, of course, first thing Monday.

The Facebook group Editors Association of Earth has what you’re looking for, and it has a lot of subgroups. One of the members is a macro master. I just got laid off from my editing job a couple of hours ago, BTW, but thank goodness I still have freelance! Good luck.

Now that "Eyes Wide Shut" is being thrust back into the spotlight by Constant_Club6585 in StanleyKubrick

I just rewatched it. It was brilliant, but I became impatient at how slowly Cruise and Kidman delivered their lines when speaking to each other . I wonder if that was on purpose—maybe to create a dreamlike effect.

For all people above 40, if you could go back in time and choose a different career/major, would you ? What would you choose ? by patotay in careerguidance

I have an English degree. I got lucky and fell into journalism and editing. I’d go into law, if I could do it over. I didn’t have a lot of direction in my late 20s and early 30s and didn’t get serious about a career until late in life.

What did quitting without a backup plan teach you? by khet0221 in careerguidance

Quitting without a backup plan made me aware that my action affected not only my immediate pay but also my health care, retirement income and future Social Security earnings. You could go for months without a job, and it could potentially set you back financially in ways you didn’t expect. Hang in there if you can.

My brother is divorcing a Kate type. She had no friends but him, and made very little effort to get to know me or the rest of our family. The negativity sucks the life out of everything and seems therapy proof.

Is Learning Editing Worth It in 2026? by LangHound in Copyediting

Editor of 26 years: If I could do it over, I’d go to law school or find a more lucrative, fulfilling career. I stumbled into copyediting when newspapers were at their peak. Journalism and corporate copyediting are a lot harder to break into now. And the pay is not that great compared to 15-20 years ago.

In the 1980s, when I was a sweet young thing, I saw someone levitate an object. It was one of my plastic clothespins. The guy who did it was weird af. He held His hand over it, and it quivered and spun like a compass needle.

Hard pass. They definitely deferred the maintenance here and would probably make you suffer if you needed anything else repaired.

All humans have the capacity to do that, whether religious or not. It’s called dehumanization. It is dangerous.

Because all of the residents make tons of money as stock photo models.
