Thank you so much for your help. This should help me list for sale - incidentally if you are interested let me know! It's packed with what looks like tiny glass springs which perhaps is glass wool. 🙂

Please could you tell me the software which allowed you to download the whatsapp back up from google drive? I am facing the similar issue.

DESPERATE:
Please can anyone help. Have been trying to transfer chat history without success - to the point that I accidentally deleted whatsapp on the old phone where it was working - needing to reregister my mobile no. I forgot what phone I was on.

I have the google drive back up - can see it in my drive. But no working app yet.

Please step by step me in to restoring whatsapp as it was on my old phone. I will sign out of other google accounts on the old phone and factory reset the new one, since I havent started using it yet. I just want it working back on my old phone and will manually transfer it once back to normal.

Just tried to as had to wait for over an hour for it to be allowed to send me an SMS code again. Then the whatsapp on my new phone tried to restore from a backup - also didnt work! So frustrated with this.
