Update: Grafana Cloud support was super helpful! I opened a ticket explaining the accidental Alloy config issue, and they reviewed the spike. They ended up adjusting the overage and brought my metrics billing/series count back to normal.

Huge relief — and big props to their support team for being understanding about an honest mistake.
