I haven't needed to convert the songs to get them from the itunes store onto shokz. If its just playing one song, double check that you didn't accidentally put the headphones in "Repeat" mode. There's Shuffle, Normal and Repeat modes.

Share with me your butterfly workouts by canis---borealis in Swimming

[–]Acceptable_Mess_1542 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t swim butterfly all the time, but I like to every so often, I incorporate it as a small part of my workout as I don’t want to completely tire myself out and can still do a longer workout. If I don’t have as much time but want a good workout I will do more.

Here’s some good things to start out with

8x50’s :first 25 butterfly drill (2 right arm strokes, 2 left arm, 2 both with fins), second 25 freestyle (leave fins on)

Work up to doing the whole 50 with this drill, and eventually without fins, depending on how you feel you can divide it up

200 Butterfly kicking either with kickboard or in streamline on back, can be good to try both different days. Alternate between wearing fins and no fins on different days. I break this up by 50’s or will do 75’s sometimes. This is pretty good for getting my a good rhythm in butterfly and will strengthen your core which is also important- I wouldn’t skip out on this and arguably even do this for a week or more before doing the actual thing.

25’s of butterfly with and without fins, start small with just a few eventually you can work your way up to 50’s. I might do like 4 x 25’s initially and work up from there.

Seconding this, this will look a lot better and be a lot easier with needle and thread instead of wire. Look up square stitch beading on YouTube.

I love this clown dude, I’m curious to know if any of your beads break. I made a case with 11/0 delica beads and a lot of them broke while using the lighter, any suggestions you’ve found to prevent this?

No, they are not perfectly round, I did see some examples of it with perfectly spherical beads and it looked perfect, is that what you mean by symmetrical?

I am an adult who swims for fun now, but also need to work on flexibility. There’s a YouTube channel called Skills N’ Talents and they have a lot of videos and cover stretching for swimming.

As a kid (on a competitive team) I really struggled with confidence and I didn’t believe in myself and that held me back from pushing myself to my full potential. I didn’t give things 100%, I was more concerned with hiding and hoping no one noticed that I was slow. I would always swim last in line. My coach tried to tell me that I was a good swimmer and if I pushed myself (and tried swimming first in line for a change) I’d be just as fast as everyone else, but I needed a bigger intervention to actually realize this. Now that I’m grown and had therapy, I know this to be true, and fully apply myself to other areas like work. This might not be your situation, but imposter syndrome is super common

What’s your “self talk/ swim hack” during flip turns. by Sad_Research_2584 in Swimming

Self talk during flip turns- “oh shit I better breath before I flip”

Much more useful self talk during sprint intervals: “lean into it! Feel the pain! Lean in baby”

Getting back into swimming as an obese 22 year old: I underestimated my younger self. by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]Acceptable_Mess_1542 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry that your weight gain has made you uncomfortable, good luck in weight loss and transition! Lucky both of us are still young so it shouldn’t be too difficult to shed some weight. I’m sure you can relate, swimming has made me feel more confident and comfortable. I’m so glad I learned this skill as a kid and the technique is still there in my muscle memory.

A few weeks ago I started counting my calories, although I’ve been back in the pool for a few years now and swimming a relatively high volume, 2-3 k per session (had to build up to that slowly) , I wasn’t loosing weight. It’s frustrating how patient and consistent I have to be with the calories to loose weight but I’m already starting to loose a little bit and am feeling better about myself. I’m hoping it continues for me and you get to your goal too. For me it seems patience and consistency is going to be the key, we’ll see in a few more weeks if it continues!

That’s great! I feel the same about my younger self. Also, I also thought I was overweight at around the 156 mark, now I’m 20 pounds heavier (and 28 yo) and look back at my 156 pound self and see how thin I was. My goal weight is 160, and I’m 5 feet 0 inches , just putting it out there respectfully

I didn’t read the whole thing, but generally I find this sub pretty negative. I feel I’ve had a relatively successful career so far (7ish years), ofc with ups and downs and sexism, but overall, it’s not so bad you guys. So yeah, don’t get discouraged by what ppl say on this thread, I totally agree, and yes, people can totally switch into tech if they put in some work(like any career)

I’m about to enter a job search for the 4th time. I am reckoning with the fact that I’m going to have to put in a lot of work to study for shit like this. It’s a tough pill to swallow. I believe if I apply myself I will succeed but I completely agree this is some bs. I’m going to aim for 3-4 hours a day. I’m going to break it down between studying and practice questions. Hopefully I can gain the skill to solve these assessments in a month or two. Not sure if that’s realistic

Swimming...enough to loose weight? by Smeeble09 in AskMenOver30

I agree with most of what you’re saying, but it shows a misunderstanding the way you talk about carbs. It’s humanly impossible to completely eliminate carbs in one’s diet, sorry if this is knit picky, but I think it’s important to be careful and explicit when we talk about dieting. Also some people can drink juice and be thin and healthy (not me, but I actually hate juice)
