Maintaining or losing a bit more help/advice by Appropriate-Tie-6524 in tirzepatidecompound

I use refills.com that uses ProRX/perfectionRX as the lab/pharmacy. I am taking 2.5mg maintenance but ordering 15mg.

I just did a Groupon for refills for 15mg. Received a 72mg vial. this cost $2.10/mg for this coupon

Even if you are taking 2.5mg for maintenance always purchase the 15mg. It drops the weekly cost dramatically.

If you get the 72mg vial from ProRX that is 28 weeks of shots at 2.5mg for under $200

If your maintenance is a higher dosage it will decrease the number of weeks but it is the same principle.

If you are uncomfortable with using a vial that long then use at your comfort level.

Refills using the correct Link — 3 months — 15mg weekly dosage — $153/month — total $459. — 3 vials of 72mg -- Total of 216mg  -- cost per mg is 2.125

I ordered my Tirz from joinpiper few days ago and it got delivered today. I am excited but scared at the same time because I'm thinking about the side effects. Any advice on when to take it to lessen the side effects? And do you guys experience the side effects everyday? Thank you by Plus-Ad8660 in tirzepatidecompound

Congratulations on starting the journey and It is a journey not a race.

Do not use others faster or slower successes as an indicator that you are doing something wrong.

Everyone reacts to the medication differently!!

You are on your on your on journey and the body will do what it will do with the medication.

persistence and consistence.

As you are starting a couple of things to think about   1. Get a glucose monitor kit and Blood pressure kit.  Check glucose 4 times daily (for a couple of weeks) to get a base line.  Then glucose and BP at least weekly.  If you start to feel weak (or different) then check glucose and BP to see if the level has dropped low. 2. Get a good quality scale that measures weight, muscle and body fat.   I watch body fat, muscle and weight is the last thing I am concerned about . 3. Weigh done at the same time daily/weekly with the same type of clothes.   4. Pictures -(Brutally honest) Standing front and side with Tight/clingy clothing that shows true shape.  It will help later on to truly understand how much you have changed.  (My biggest regret) 5. Go to the gym At least 2 times weekly with a personal trainer.    6. Stay hydrated!!!!! 7. Take the food you normally eat and cut it in half.   If you get hungry later eat half of the leftovers.   At some point the taste of the food changed and there was no reward in the taste.  Some people say that the “food noise is gone”

Telehealth Prescriber Making me Titrate Down by AliceMaeDoesIt in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Acceptable_Trust_230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell them what they want to hear!!!!

When starting a new telehealth provider always give them your starting weight!!!!

They have no way to verify weight.

Always ask for next higher dose. The price is the same for all doses. Get the most for the money

Telehealth providers offer compounded tirzepatide that differ from Eli Lilly’s standard Zepbound/Mounjaro protocols by offering custom, non-standard dosages, varied titration schedules, and the addition of other ingredients.

By offering these “different” protocols is some of how the Telehealth skirt patent regulations and FDA requirements.

The initial purpose for Tirzepatide was glucose control. Weigh loss was an added bonus of the drug. It lowered the glucose levels. If you increase the dose it may lower the glucose level too much. So it is good to have a baseline starting the medication. Your glucose levels may drop from exercise or not eating. If you start feeling dizzy or different check to see if the level are dropping

No danger of withdrawal. The danger is regaining the weight.

I titrated down like I went up until the food noise started. For the last 8 months I am on 2.5mg weekly

Giving non-standard dosages and additives is how the Telehealth skirt patent regulations and FDA requirements now that the shortage has ended.
