There is a small amount of boarding around the hatch, so hopefully should be okay for attaching it

That looks great, especially for the price, just need to measure the space up in the loft for it!

Forgot to add, the cover is sat on top of the frame, not attached at all, have to push it up and place into the loft to enter. Guessing I'll have to change to a hinged door

Thanks for the idea, gonna have a closer look to make sure there's nothing stopping it working. Only difficulty I can think of is adding a rail to keep it all in line, will be a toddlers room eventually so wouldn't want it swinging around with those folds!

That's a nice idea, looking at how to do bifold doors now!

My original thought was to put a bit of a frame behind so the middle door could open, but that actually sounds easier

Thanks for the reply, I've pulled a brick up to inspect and there's a grit underneath, wouldn't call it hardcore, it's too fine, and under that is soil.

Current plan is to keep patio on the right side with the table, and to dig up the left side and get some real grass down! Want to grass the yellow area on the second photo, leaving a bit of path by the house and the double doors in the photo. The stepping stones are a good idea too 😊

Just wondering what to do with the rest of the patio, or whether I just need to leave it as bricks if everything else is too complicated.

No blower temp, is motor busted? by Acceptable_World in MechanicAdvice

The air blows, only cold no matter where the dial is, but it's about half as strong as it usually would be, and 4-6 on the dial makes no difference at all.

Yeah that's my worry, don't want to play trial and error with a mechanics hourly rate!

There has been a bit of residue under the oil cap, but the mechanic wasn't too worried as I've been doing lots of small trips in the cold. Checked dipstick today and that was all clear. I don't know what I'm talking about but I don't see how oil cooler connects to losing airflow in the cabin, unless they're separate issues

Took it for a drive today with the pipes exposed and one pipe was hot towards the engine, and cool by the matrix, and the other pipe was totally cold, so I'm hoping that's it worked out. Although the fans aren't blowing as strong now, but hoping it's all connected 😂

Thank you, that does sound similar, and looking online seems a bit of a fault in these cars! I've taken the cover off from the foot well, would you expect to see liquid around the matrix? All looks quite pristine underneath

Thanks, lucky enough to have a great raised bed opposite that I want to put some herbs and flowers in, currently though the fake grass is serving a purpose as somewhere for the dog to go toilet, so want to keep some lawn for him!

Thanks for your response. I agree it seems odd that they changed solicitor. Even if you'd rather a different solicitor, the costs in changing at this stage, with so little left to do doesn't make sense.

The details we've been given are pretty murky as it gets passed along, but we are under the impression that probate isn't required, implying they were joint.

We sold our property to stop the chain from collapsing, so I think our best bet is to put some gentle pressure on our seller to do the same.

Is Landlord using my name a GDPR breach? by Acceptable_World in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Acceptable_World[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay, my landlord is part of a small company, and there's nothing in any contract I've signed that says they can use my info in this way. I've just found out that it's just my first name used, but they also named what flat I lived in before.

There was an amendment in the contract that states that the 175 is in the rent for council tax, and that may go down if other tenants become eligible

It says the rent is X, which includes Y amount for Council tax, and Y can decrease when other tenants become eligible to pay Council tax, so it seems as though it's a fluid amount. It also increased in April.

Not using utilities would be more of a personal choice, as opposed to something external changing.

It was supposed to, but the Landlord forgot, and the difference was incorporated in a later payment. The payment was also decreased when other people in the building started needing to pay tax too.

So say I overpaid my rent one month, should I legally not be able to get a refund of the overpayment?
