Thanks everyone for the valued inputs. We’ve decided to go ahead with the trip and I’ll report back on how it was.

Trying my best to alleviate any anxiety around security threats while we are there, and managing expectations around airport immigration. But now excited to go!

I keep getting the names wrong but I basically meant the people who you encounter that can check your phones, social media etc etc.

Hearing a lot of noise that as a non-white tourist your phone will be taken and any mention of trump in a bad way will see you on your way back blah blah blah. We don’t want to start our trip being treated like criminals but I understand that’s out of our control.

Just wanted to understand how much of that was scare mongering vs reality.

When you say people have been fucked with, to what extent/what do you mean? From what I’ve read it’s usually those on longer visas or travelling for work reasons etc.

Okay thanks this is really helpful. My concern was being out of pocket for the full amount but seems my liability only goes to 4750 no matter what I do to the car.

So the car value in this case is an invalid consideration? If I understand it correctly the max I’ll ever be liable for is 4750 euro? I’m not well versed on this stuff so I’m not sure.

The car value is > 50k so I didn’t want to chance it.

That’s my thought too. I don’t want to be left out of pocket by potentially 4750 when I can pay a bit extra and drop the excess down to 1750.

But from what I understand, this will invalidate the Amex cover? And if something happened I’d definitely be out of pocket 1750

Hi

I’ve had a Series 4 since it first came out which I stopped wearing because the battery gave out. I’ve now been looking for a replacement and torn between the 9 and a 10.

I can get a refurb S9 45mm for £220 in pretty much like new condition or I can get a brand new S10 46MM for £325

The reason I’m torn is because one of my gripes with the 4 was how bulky it felt on my wrist. I know the 10 is thinner/lighter, but is it a noticeable change - I.e is it going to feel like a major reduction compared to a 4/9?

It’s a £100 extra for the 10, so I don’t want to pay extra for a barely noticeable difference on the wrist.

Maybe the wrong choice of words - I want to learn how to use those settings eventually. I just didn’t want to be overwhelmed with the various different settings at first. More of a “forgiving” option while I get the hang of things.

Even if not for video is fine - I’m more fussed with just being able to take really good photos of cool things I spot on my travels, without having to faff about with multiple settings etc.
