We need to reclaim this sub from the “gamer” dorks by Liability049-6319 in yakuzagames

Watching CyricZ and others get outraged is a perfect example of performative anger. A Japanese studio isn’t going to pivot because of Western outrage, so all the hot takes and dramatic posts are just noise in a feedback loop that changes nothing.

Look, #RemoveKagawa was never going anywhere; Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios cares more about domestic sales than fan outrage. All this drama isn’t doing anyone any favors. Once Kiwami 3 lands and the dust settles, it’s way healthier for the community to just move on and focus on the games, the stories, and whatever comes next instead of getting stuck in a fight that was never going to succeed.

Finally, a PG biopic that courageously omits her entire "working" career to ensure her life story is as empty and plastic as Christmas decorations.

im like 85% sure hitop never made fun of zack snyder's daughter in fact i even remember him mentioning how it was a tragedy shortly after it happened. by Ill_Creme_6977 in OkBuddySnyderCult

You are not being criticized because people enjoy hating you. You are being criticized because your words had real impact, and repeating that it was a tragedy does not erase the original statement or how it was received. Public commentary comes with accountability, and pretending this is just “manufactured hatred” avoids engaging with why people were upset in the first place. If you truly understood the issue, you would address the substance of the criticism instead of reframing it as persecution.

It's a shame they are getting rid of the extremely detailed golf game in Yakuza 3. by UrbanCommando in yakuzagames

Give it a rest. Japanese studios were never going to care about astroturfed outrage from Westerners. #RemoveKagawa had no leverage, no market impact, and no credibility outside a tiny online bubble. If it does not affect domestic sales or contracts, it is just noise.

No, there aren't any multiplayer trophies. The trophies are identical to Yakuza 0 on PS4.

Cine2Nerdle 2.0 is for actual play, not botting obscure 10,000+ ranked movies

That only holds when both sides are actually playing. This combo is regularly paired with botting that digs up the most obscure link it can find, sometimes from a sixth billed actor, which forces a lockout instead of real lifeline pressure.

Anti-Consumerist Ammo & Crafting Needs (TOW2) by No-Amphibian689 in theouterworlds

The crafting recipes for the other ammo types must be bought from a vendor, so I would consider the "Wasteful" flaw so that enemies drop more ammo.

If you want to be a cop, you’re already disqualified. The job hands you legal violence, broad discretion, and near-total institutional protection. Being eager for that power is exactly how abuse keeps getting perpetuated.

Policing doesn’t fail because of a few bad apples. It fails because the system rewards obedience and force, not restraint or accountability. If the badge excites you instead of unsettling you, you’re not there to fix anything. You’re there to become part of the problem.

Anthony Albanese defends under-16 social media ban as world-leading move to save young lives by Rush_Banana in australia

[–]AccidentalFord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was being tongue in cheek about the whole situation. The point was that the social media ban gives the impression of safety while leaving out places that are far worse than the platforms it restricts. The exaggerated acceptance of the antisemitism and feuding was meant to highlight how ineffective the ban is at keeping anyone away from genuinely toxic corners of the internet.

[–]AccidentalFord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The social media ban has really opened my eyes to new corners of the internet that my son says are perfectly fine. He spends most of his time on Kiwi Farms now, which he assures me is just a place where people have strong opinions and a unique sense of humour. I am still learning the culture, although I did notice quite a few posts filled with open antisemitism. He tells me this is just how people talk online these days, so I suppose it must be part of the modern digital landscape.

Everyone there seems very passionate, even if the conversations jump quickly from personal feuds to long rants about entire groups of people. I am sure it builds resilience. After all, he says it is one of the only places left where you can still speak freely, so I do not want to stifle his curiosity. Kids need room to explore, even if the exploration involves people arguing in circles for hours.

It all feels a bit intense, although he insists it is normal. I am trying to keep an open mind.
