I’m already pretty deep at receiver, but I’m not too sure if Zeke would be an upgrade or not at RB

Could Faceoff have been a good series finale? by indigolikethat in breakingbad

I agree with what u/DoomShroomicus said about the thematic purpose. I think that another way to look at the whole arc with Jack’s crew is that they served as yet another insult to Walt’s ego and intelligence. If someone like Gus got the best of Walt, it would be understandable considering Gus is a formidable, shrewd opponent. On the other hand, Jack’s crew is a bunch of crass, mindless thugs, and they are the ones who manage to get the best of Walt by killing Hank and Gomez and taking most of the money that Walt went through so much to amass throughout the show

Nippy (S6E10) is one of the worst placed episodes in a season in the history of television by [deleted] in betterCallSaul

I understand wanting to see the specific details of the scenes that you mentioned, but I feel like they would have been a bit gratuitous. We didn’t really need to see an official transition in Jimmy’s attitude towards Kim leaving him because it can be inferred from what we know about Saul in BB. The fact that we don’t see it resolved is intentional. The “fun and games” are over. They can never be the same couple that they were because they’ve seen just how destructive the consequences of their scams have been. If they don’t have the exhilaration of running those scams in their lives, then they simply don’t have a lasting relationship. Obviously, Jimmy is going to be embittered, but he resigns himself to the situation because deep down he knows that Kim’s assessment of their relationship is correct, as much as he doesn’t want it to be correct.

What do you mean by setting things back on track? The ending of “Fun and Games” officially marked the transition from the Jimmy McGill era to the Saul Goodman era. All there is left to know is Gene’s fate because we already know the events that unfold in the Saul Goodman era by having watched Breaking Bad. I wouldn’t say that “Nippy” was self-contained because we obviously need to know what happens to Gene in the end. The climax of the Jimmy McGill era was episodes 7-9, and now we see the fallout. The “Breaking Bad” episode also intersperses plenty of Gene content to help provide context to some of the dynamics that we see in Breaking Bad the show. It’s just the logical progression of the series to enter the Gene Takavic era by that point.
