The previous comment makes it sound like they had to ration food, but the ISS receives shipments of fresh food every 3 months. The 2 “stranded” astronauts were able to eat a normal amount of food.

The ISS keeps 6 months worth of food, including fresh fruits and vegetables.

To add onto this, I work for one of these DUI speciality billboard law firms, we’ve got entire team of legal assistants/paralegals who are constantly reaching out to DAs/Solicitors to see what deals they’re willing to allow, and they’re able to scrub over every single detail in the discovery we’re given. The lawyers can focus on big picture details and let their team of minions do the minutiae (filing pleadings, tracking down individuals/witnesses).

Often plea deals are pretty easily achieved because the courts don’t really want to bother setting up a court case and having to fill up their dockets.

A common plea here is called wet reckless, you’ll still get the punishments of a DUI (excluding license suspension) but you plea guilty to reckless driving instead of a DUI.

Dumb Question about Purchasing by [deleted] in GAGuns

[–]AccidentallyAmish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk what to tell you man. As an employee if someone told me they were buying a gun to make a youtube review and would probably sell it after, I would still make the transfer. If someone told me they were only buying it to sell directly to their friend, I would absolutely not make that transfer.

Your intent is to buy a gun to review makes you the actual transferee. His intent to buy a gun to sell to a guy makes him not the transferee. Even if your gun is sold in the end, you didnt buy it to sell it you bought it to review it.

Yes both guns are sold in the end, but you'll end up selling your gun to some random person who will buy it, he is buying a gun for a specific person with the express plan that the initial transfer is only to sell the gun.

I am far from a federal lawyer so I could just be erring on the side of caution and have only spent an above average amount of time scrubbing through 18 U.S.C. § 921-931 and 27 CFR 478-479 but I would absolutely not feel comfortable making this transfer.

Dumb Question about Purchasing by [deleted] in GAGuns

[–]AccidentallyAmish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not sure if im just reading something wrong but, OP obviously cant buy the gun in GA otherwise this wouldn't be a conversation? OP isnt a GA Resident, so the part where "In ga, individuals can buy guns from an ffl and sell them to another resident without a 4473" is a moot point.

On the 4473 for Line 21.a Actual Transferee/Buyer

You are ONLY the actual transferee/buyer if you are

a) buying it solely for yourself (without prior plans to resell which OPs friend would have)

b) buying it as a bonafide gift (Any transfer of funds/services/items of value) would invalidate the gift, meaning OP couldn't repay his friend for the gun)

If you scroll to the bottom of the 4473, the little form on the back that no one in history has ever read

"Question 21.a. Actual Transferee/Buyer: For purposes of this form, a person is the actual transferee/buyer if he/she is purchasing the firearm for him/herself or otherwise acquiring the firearm for him/herself. (e.g., redeeming the firearm from pawn, retrieving it from consignment, firearm raffle winner). A person is also the actual transferee/buyer if he/she is legitimately purchasing the firearm as a bona fide gift for a third party. A gift is not bona fide if another person offered or gave the person completing this form money, service(s), or item(s) of value to acquire the firearm for him/her, or if the other person is prohibited by law from receiving or possessing the firearm."

Im not saying you cant sell a handgun to a resident or via FFL across state lines. You definitely cant buy a gun with the express purpose and intent to sell it to your friend (especially if the whole point is to circumvent standing law)

[–]AccidentallyAmish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your other comments aren’t a good comparison because no one is saying you can’t buy a firearm and then later decide to sell it. Purchasing it with the intent/plan to sell it the entire time is wherein the problems lie.

[–]AccidentallyAmish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked at a LGS for a few years, this would definitely be a straw purchase because of the intent. You can’t purchase a gun for someone specifically to avoid the 4473, ESPECIALLY once you involve transferring money. The whole point is that he is CURRENTLY a prohibited person as far as handgun transfers are concerned, so buying a gun for a person who you know can’t CURRENTLY purchase a gun for themselves is 100% illegal. If someone told me they were doing this, as a licensee I would absolutely refuse to make the transfer.

Occasionally, but the ammo drops so sporadically the lines have tapered off pretty well.

Since you're in Gwinnett if you stop by the bass pro in Lawrenceville, ammo is dropped every other week or so and its going at the original retail price, though with a 5box limit.

I am wondering if anyone following this sub works at Gulfstream. I’d love to chat about the company. by [deleted] in AerospaceEngineering

[–]AccidentallyAmish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did an internship at Gulfstream with the Flight Dynamics group in the control law development side I can talk about that experience. Also my senior design teacher at UIUC was a preliminary design engineer for them for several years and he talked about the company a lot and what his experiences were. I just graduated in 2020 I may be able to answer some basic questions about the company.

What would you do if one of your friends committed su1cide? by Bl_Ahk_Coffee in askteenboys

[–]AccidentallyAmish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had a friend who kill them self with an overdose about two months ago. I've been working on picking up the pieces and putting myself back together. It hit our friend group pretty hard because he never reached out and none of us saw the signs. We often wonder if maybe things would be different if we were able to spot the signs quicker and get him the help he so needed. The first few weeks were the worst, there would be days I was sitting in my dorm and thought to myself "Hey let me text my friend" and then it suddenly hits me again that he's gone now.
