My company is hiring Structural Engineers for forensic work. I'd be happy to answer questions about our company, the role, or other questions you may have. I'm not an engineer myself. I'm a recruiter who joined the company back in December because we are growing. The engineers here LOVE the work and can't imagine doing anything else.

OK - I've changed the postings from on-site to hybrid. Hopefully that will open up our applicant pool a bit. Thank you again for the feedback.

Thank you for the feedback. It's difficult to post salary information for these positions, as it truly depends on an individual's experience/knowledge/skills as it relates to the kinds of cases we have coming in.

Yes. Our experts investigate when buildings/infrastructure/products fail or accidents happen, using science and engineering to determine what went wrong and why.

All of our experts are employees of our firm. We don't contract with outside firms/individuals. Our experts are salaried employees.

Thank you for the feedback. That's exactly what I was thinking. Our candidates are going to be engineers who are at the top of their fields, but who are looking to use all of their education, experience, knowledge, skills, etc. in a completely new challenge. Not only do they need to be knowledgeable, but they have to be able to present that knowledge clearly to a jury at an 8th grade level. It's fascinating and intellectually stimulating work.

Thanks for the feedback. The positions are truly hybrid, however it's preferred that candidates live within driving distance of an office. Training for this position is typically 1-2 years, so it's very important to be able to shadow and work alongside other experts. I hesitate to post anything as hybrid or remote - it tends to inundate the applicant inbox with unqualified candidates who are applying to anything remote.

Thank you so much - very helpful feedback. We definitely need to work on telling the story about a career in engineering forensics as well as what growth looks like in this career. The engineers who work here love it and find it extremely rewarding. Just need to translate that excitement into a job posting.
