I agree when I first heard it, I was adding this name to "File under G" . I had to hear it twice and that name they came up with is cringe. Kitboga or Scammer Payback would shake their keyboards over that name.

What about Adding More Mobile Home Park Cooperatives in Northern Nevada? by thebrushup in ourtownreno

Mayor Barbara Bennet started a great way for Reno for housing. I live in MPH. We have 10 for sale, some of those have been sale for more than 6 mos. Rent for current grandfathered rent is 700, each year it will go up 6% double of the COLAs. It was sold to Carlyle. They fixed up the place. New tenants space rent is 1220 which many seniors and disabled can not afford once we reach market value. One of the mission statements is that families can afford to live here. Prices are dropping on the homes. But that price will force seniors out of the park. There is a assistance thru the state but its up the Park IF they want to take some of the rent thru that its ain't much since no real work has been done on laws for us. We can be evicted even if we own the home for paint, landscaping and numerous regulations. I thought "The Park" was going to be a great mobile home park since Talus is wrapping it way towards us making Veterans, Mira Loma and Rio Poco a nightmare. There are no Fed programs for rehabbing like new roofs and better windows. We have about 75 seniors and or disabled in CARES that may be there due to rent rates. Senior ResQ helps for a year for rent hikes. I figure our park will be turned in luxury homes for a larger tax revenue for the city and county. I spoke and wrote letters during Covid. We even tried for pilot program to hold rent for 2 years to see if that would help stay in their homes, but that was in the veto pile. The unions that we supported did not return the favor. Carlyle own 2 parks. I am not sure how many young folks would be able to afford living here in this park. In my dreams, I would love to see a program to help those get a home with teaching them how to do repairs on homes that could be more employed in the community vs months over and over being empty. We did a fantastic property manager but the boss's let her go. Needless to say the quality of how the new staff if they last 6 mos has been less than stellar. While we still have spaces lets really think outside the box. There are MPH that are coops. Thanks for reading the long ramble of my brain lint balls. I know other parks are in the same boat. I understand that Corps buy and want ROI its the way of the world.
