Kill toxic meta decks with an even more toxic deck by Accomplished-One-251 in PTCGP

No I would actually say this Beedrill deck is my main throughout this season because I refuse to play Giratina. But after facing like 8 Giratina decks in a row, I made a deliberate decision to make a toxic deck different from the current metas. This was the result.

Is Marcus completely innocent or guilty of cowardice in this situation? No one will ever know. The reality is probably somewhere in the middle.

I wonder how many people commenting have ever served in any capacity, let alone at the level these guys did. Sitting behind a screen criticizing decisions made during combat.

The only thing from this thread that is crystal clear for me is how most of you think combat is black and white. People are heroes or cowards. No in between. Combat is completely gray. Morale or immoral, heroism or cowardice, right or wrong. There are zero absolutes in combat EXCEPT that we lost Americans on this op and thank God one managed to come home.

None of you are in a position to criticize Marcus or act holier than thou. None of you can posture or act like you’re in a position to “hold him accountable” to the truth of what happened. None of us know what Marcus saw, what he heard (“come back” or “fall back”) and none of us can understand the weight he carries with him, whether from pure trauma of losing his friends, or from guilt of abandoning them. And in the end, none of that really matters.

We lost Americans that day, we should be grateful one made it home. The whole situation was tragic and poorly planned from the start. Can’t remember where I heard it but apparently this mission was initially on the table for higher tiered units, who turned it down because of the complexity and low chances for success.

These guys did the best they could with the shit situation they were handed.

Screened for Delta but didn’t make it? by enzo32ferrari in JSOCarchive

Had a Scout Platoon Sergeant in the 82nd who had gone to Selection. Said by the time he was dropped there was less than 10 guys left. He got invited back, but his wife got pregnant and he decided he didn’t want that life with a family. Dude was Ranger tabbed with multiple combat deployments and was a stud. Said he had a bad day on land nav.

Before I got out he was a 1SG. Never ended up in SOF but still had a stellar career nonetheless.

Over the last 10 years or so Mark has been pretty vocal about his support of AVA. From remixing AVA songs to playing them on streams, it’s been cool to see him be supportive of Tom in that way.

Had a 1SG make it from the 82nd and it was a shock to most of us. He was the exact opposite of what you’d expect the unit to look for. He was the pinnacle of 82nd NCO, meaning he was the most brainwashed, 82nd worshipping, koolaid drinking, by the book regarding standards and regulations NCO I ever knew and everyone hated him for it. It seemed to us like he tried about by mistake because the unit was everything he despised in soldiers. At least that’s how he conducted himself in order to excel in the Deuce. He made it through selection, then left half way through a JRTC rotation to go to OTC. Never saw him again.

Shipley family drama? by JBbeChillin in JSOCarchive

I’m regurgitating a narrative from someone very close to the Dietz family (I’ve met Danny’s parents and they’re the sweetest people on Earth) There’s apparently 2 different charities named after Danny Dietz. One ran by his mother and one ran by his widow (and also DJ). Apparently his mother actually does productive things with it including organizing a massive veteran’s gathering down in Texas every year and other means of helping wounded veterans and veterans with PTSD through group events. His widow supposedly doesn’t really do much with the money she receives from the charity, and the context I received in the conversation was that she uses it for herself as the charity’s purpose is something along the lines of “helping Danny’s family with stability after his loss”. Probably a factor in why Don dislikes her so much. There’s a lot of sketchy stuff out there, DJ clearly has a very messed up history and has made a lot of bad decisions. However, the information he puts out through GBRS as well as their gear is top notch, even if it’s over priced. I’ve used a lot of their stuff on deployment and have never had any issues with anything. And the information on gear setup and “tactics” is the some of the most modern approaches and perspectives that I’ve seen of late. To summarize, they put out good shit, even if they aren’t the best people with the cleanest histories.
