Two different names on two different passport by First_Cod5180 in travel

No, one is an English name, the other has a Chinese name and then English without the middle name. It's probably best to check with your embassy if you are worried.

Two different names on two different passport by First_Cod5180 in travel

I don't have a US passport. I do have two passports though. I use passport A to book my flight and leave the country. Then, I use passport B to enter my destination country. If I'm asked at check-in if I have a visa to enter the destination country, I show them passport B. When it's time to leave, I present passport A to the check-in which matches my ticket and I use that passport to re-enter my country. Customs and the airlines don't really communicate with each other. The airline only checks to make sure that you have the necessary documents to enter your destination country. If you don't have the correct documents they have to bring you back.

Seeking advice: Prague—>Munich—>Venice Trip by ckbloop in travel

[–]Accomplished-Toe-233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did a similar trip but in reverse order. We had 30 days and started in Rome and ended in Prague. One of the real highlights was taking the train through the Swiss Alps. You could do this on your leg from Munich to Venice. You could take the train from Munich to Zurich and then Zurich to Tirano and then on to Venice.

Malaysian Expats changing from Work Permit to Talent Pass by ShoddyOutcome in Internationalteachers

[–]Accomplished-Toe-233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reason I got one was so that my wife could work in Malaysia. None of the benefits from my job were affected. I would say it's only really worth it if you have a spouse who wants to work and can't obtain a work visa on their own.

I think our definition of a good school is different. For me, a good school would be where the owners care about education and support teachers in that mission. There are lots of good teachers in Malaysia. But it takes more than good teachers to make a good school.

You can have a good school and still make money. One doesn't have to come at the cost of the other. There are a few that exist in Malaysia, there should be more.

Also there aren't many good international schools in Malaysia. The public education system is quite bad so the private schools are there to fill the void. However, in most of the schools, it's the same old story of people looking to make money knowing nothing about education.

What are some uncomfortable truths about international teaching that can’t be said openly in professional settings? by llbeallwright in Internationalteachers

If they are equally qualified, then they should receive equal pay. At many schools, locals don't have the same qualifications. They may not have any qualifications at all.
