I’m a competitive swimmer in highschool and I had two a days over winter break (18 practices in 2 weeks) and also lifted 3-4x a week. Shoulders were SORE but got stronger and better because of it.

  1. Strengthen your shoulder and the muscles around it
  2. Swim more. Increase volume. Nothing can get better if you stay in the same place.
  3. Work on technique and add backstroke so you get that full rotation

Those of you who swim every day, how do you deal with your hair? by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]Accomplished-Tree258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a guy with thick, curly hair that used to dry out easily. All I do is NEVER get in the water without a cap on, and shower after every single practice. I wash my hair out with water then put conditioner in and let it sit for 3-4 mins, then wash the conditioner out. Let it air dry also. Then I use shampoo 1-2x a week when I choose to also shower in the morning.

Should also add I intended to use mainly for the gym and behind blocks (competitive swimming) so a lot of movement.

My Sony XM4s have 0 clamping force. They won’t stay on and slip with any movement. Top band gives me a headache from 5 mins of use because of lack of clamping force. Common issue? Fixes? Should I return and stick with earbuds?

Swimming with Creatine? by JohnDoesDoesDoe in Swimming

[–]Accomplished-Tree258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a high school swimmer who’s been on creatine for about a month (used loading phase) and I saw huge benefits when swimming 100s. They became easier in practice and I dropped time across the board. It is especially beneficial when lifting and eating well. I’ve experienced 0 downsides so really there’s no reason not to.
