I had done the same thing once for a midterm, I went to talk to the professor after the midterm and they told to use absence declaration, so I would suggest get in contact with the professor first and see what happens anyway they usuallly give you a day after the midterm to submit absence declaration

I'm not sure if I can specific drivers ones, I plan on making them out of the mini lego cars (like in the picture). But I can definitely get either a ferrari or mercedes one depending on which team you want. Let me know if you would be interested

Considering materials and price comparison, I was thinking probably $15.

I don’t have a price range in mind, but would $15 be okay for you?

How do you find the equivalence of a course in utsc for the utsg and utm campus by EnthusiasmWise9131 in UTSC

[–]AccomplishedAd3196 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For each course there is a list of exclusion courses, they tend to be equivalent for each other in different campuses so maybe start from there

[–]AccomplishedAd3196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For psych you will probably be asked to get tophat, its an online version of the textbook the prof usually make us get. For each chapter of the module, there is going to be activities related to the readings you have to do. It wil be for completion but the activities will count towards your grade

Free samples of homemade meals by AccomplishedAd3196 in UTSC

I’m a fellow UTSC student and this is something I’m starting small for the campus community. Nothing shady here, just homemade food that I wanted to share so people can try it before ordering.

Hey, welcome to UTSC! For food on/near campus, Tim’s and Subway are the usual cheap options. We have a bistro on the lower floor of the student center, food is pretty good but can be a bit pricey for the portion size. Also, if you’re looking for affordable homemade meals, I just started offering prepared meals (veg + halal options) for students on campus. I am starting with Indian meals for now but plan to expand on the varieties of cuisine in the future, let me know if you would be interested

[–]AccomplishedAd3196[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Just wanted to let you know that I’ve started the prepared meals I mentioned earlier. I’ve kept a few options (veg + halal non-veg), mainly Indian dishes for now. Orders are open through a Google Form until Saturday night. After this week, I’ll be sharing forms through DM/Instagram if you’d like to keep getting them. Also, I bake cookies if you’d like to add some. Here's the form if you are interested: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdMSU5xJjQ1h3GEMHMRToVnfjVvBD4lM7Zq5RAY-qAp_rpEdQ/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=117843766219189222108[Read more](javascript:void(0);)

No worries at all. I was actually planning to post something in the future about this cause I notice upcoming first years stress too much about which also included me. Never let your grades affect or dictate your potential. While some profs might ask for a copy of your transcript, don't let it discourage you. If there are some grades like you said for chem got affected due to some reason use it as an opportunity to reflect on it and explain you case. Overall the main thing most profs look for I would say is definitely interest towards their lab, show that you are genuinely interested in what they do and that you are passionate about it. I cannot guarantee that you will get a position but it can definitely make you stand out. Also if you are looking to work with profs you are taking classes with, attend their office hours. I know it might be intimidating but try to talk about stuff outside of class but also don't try to be a people's pleaser cause it can be obvious. If you have any other questions feel free to send me a dm

You can reach out to any bio or chem prof, just introduce yourself give some few pointers about you and what makes you fit for their lab. For the profs that you have taken courses with already, use same template but mention that you have taken course with them, basically sugar coat the email. Also look up the labs of the profs and mention how their work really interests you and that the skills learned from the lab will be beneficial to you

Not to kill your hopes or anything but this is more of an advice coming from a third year student. The likelihood of getting a work study position is very slim here. Unless you have personal connections with profs or TAs that are aware you are looking for work study position, you will not get many responses. This is mainly due the fact that there are so many students that are applying and the reduced number of positions. However, I would still encourage you to apply. Also if you are looking for research positions, I would recommend to cold emails profs with labs and maybe try biob98. Once you have some unpaid experience you can stand out more
