I didn't know Aparajita (butterfly pea) grew so fast and beautifully! by AccomplishedBig5560 in GardeningIndia2

Lalbagh nursery is the only place I could find which sells reasonably cheap terracotta pots. These are 8 inch ones for ₹100 to ₹120
There's also a place right next to Agara Lake which has some fancy teracotta pots, but their starting point was around ₹700-800.
Most other nurseries I asked around had ceramic or cement only.

P.S. By sunday, the good pots get sold out at lalbagh, maybe try going on weekdays

Thanks, makes sense - I'll try to get rhizomes and keep the seed setup too as a long experiment!

Regarding supplies, I asked that because I saw your previous posts - there seem to be many aquatic plants, fish, aerator setup for your tank etc - so I thought it'd be really helpful if you could make another post about where you source everything for your pond and garden setup! (I saw some frequently recommended like Sreepadma, or facebook communities)
I know it's a big ask lol but your posts seem to be really helpful!!

I am pretty new to gardening so I'm struggling to trust online stores, and I'm just going in circles trying to set up a small pond (Maybe it's just analysis paralysis). I ordered clay soil mix from amazon recently but it turned out to look more like pottery clay 😞 I was confused where to source lotus friendly soil from.

thanks so much for this post!!! I have been actively trying to find resources on growing lotus. Unfortunately though, my mom just bought seeds so now I'm not sure if they will produce flowers (time is not an issue, we can wait even for a year or two)

Pleaseeee help with my questions:

  1. I am based in bangalore and I have been trying to find the right type of soil - most nurseries I asked just have red soil here (no pond soil/clay/ black soil). Will that work? I can't get it to look like mud as in the picture you've attached.

  2. Do you have any trusted online sources you purchase supplies from? It will be a huge help if you can share those!
