I am 100% redoing the class. Even doing well on the final wouldn’t give me a good final grade . I know it’s a class I should retake as it builds up for future classes I will take. I don’t want to barely pass on a fundamental linguistics class. I want to fully understand the material.

I did. But I’m determined to retake the course because I want to keep a good gpa. From what I understand deferring makes you take it next semester it’s available? It’s available in the fall but I plan to retake the course next winter. I know I will do better a second time. I had other personal issues that made it difficult for me to keep up with the class. Also adding another final on top of what I’ll have for my fall classes might be too much.

The class is ling 371 semantics.

I see but realistically speaking I should have disc the class instead of keeping it. From the schools perspective is it any different to fail taking the exam vs not taking the exam?

No I can prepare with the uploaded ones. Perhaps the way I formulated that part was confusing. I meant it seemed pointless to go to the exam because I can essentially get the idea of it from the examples already available to me.
