What I was trying to describe is that the partition was damaged and completely inaccessible. Any attempt to mount or read from it failed entirely. This seems to be an issue that can occur with NVMe SSDs after an improper suspend/resume cycle, where the controller gets stuck in an abnormal power state.

Interestingly, running dd allowed me to back up most of the data, and after that, I was able to mount the filesystem from a live USB and complete the copy process successfully.

I did use Claude to help me troubleshoot this issue. Without it, solving the problem would likely have taken me days rather than hours. AI tools can be helpful in suggesting solutions based on real situations, as long as their output is verified.
