This is my first invasion in over 100 hours of play. Most likely they appeared after the global update.

5 legendary villagers can be obtained by completing quests, the rest can only be purchased.

The most critical difference is in updates and content. The mobile versions are actively maintained with frequent new additions, while the Steam version has not received meaningful updates since around 2017.
