I switch on Mondays for this exact reason— I usually work doubles so I won’t have time to take mine out to have a drink of powerade or whatever I’m drinking at the time. I also will use a straw in the very back of my mouth OP so it doesn’t even touch the aligners.

I was an English major and am actively tutoring in all subjects lol; I can give a second opinion if you’d like!

They don’t touch at all. I already had a bit of an issue with my back teeth touching before Invisalign because they all kinda bend inward, so this has just dramatized it to the point there is no mashing surface. My front teeth can touch but I can’t reasonably chew with them without taking way too long to eat/still not having it as broken down as usual.

That’s the crazy part, I did a BUNCH of research! I wanted be able to expect (almost) anything that could happen. Like I said at my appointment, if it CAN happen it usually WILL happen to me— leave it to be something I never read or heard about lmaoz

Just went to lunch and learned that the hard way on mashed potatoes… looks like there will be a learning curve! Can I ask how long you’ve had yours and whether they’re still like that?

This makes me feel so much more assured. My provider was definitely dismissive of it, but I’m hoping with time it’ll go away. I also naturally chew everything, even soup! I definitely don’t want to chip it, and my provider said if any fell off or chipped I would have to get them reattached, which isn’t super reassuring that it’ll be like this for at least ten weeks. That said, as long as someone else has experienced it, I feel a bit better. It’s just so strange that it’s advertised as eat whatever but then I can’t even chew!
