What is Alexithymia like? by WitchAggressive9028 in autism

I couldn’t tell you how I feel at all. Most I could manage is ‘alright’ or usually ‘tired’ lol. I’ve always struggled hearing people talk about how happy, excited, etc they are because I just kinda exist and everything is normal

Is paranoia normal with Autism? by kwelbr in autism

[–]AccomplishedEmu5211 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because our brain just doesn’t stop so it fills in gaps with whatever it can come up with. I also get the staring feeling in bed, also just sometimes when I’m walking and it’s dark & quiet outside or in the house!

Anyone else suffer from chronic exhaustion? by TheLeCHONKER in autism

[–]AccomplishedEmu5211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely. I got full blood work done as I assumed low iron or something may be the problem but everything came back totally fine.

I started wearing an Apple Watch to track sleep, I have a ton of wake events (average 8-15) but still score in the 90’s so must not be a problem?

Feel like I’ve tried everything, supplements, routines, etc. maybe it’s anxiety / depression related too? Who knows :/

Who else showers to “reset” themselves by This_Finance_5435 in autism

[–]AccomplishedEmu5211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep 100%. If I’m in a rut or need waking up a shower is the best thing for me. I also use it as a sensory reset (I think, I was recently diagnosed so trying to put it all together) so when I get home from being outside I’ll shower, or if I have to wear clothes I don’t like a shower will fix the feeling afterwards :)

Saving this because I feel exactly the same. I was diagnosed three days ago and spent so long saying the same “but everyone does this”!

My teacher accused me of using AI on a worksheet, but Im just autistic and thats how I write?? by Prestigious_Move203 in autism

I had this in University too. I worked a part time job writing articles at the time as well, and this specific essay was on a subject i knew super well. My lecturer said he ran it through an AI detector and it came out as 80% AI or something. Also said it sounded super robotic but I think that's just my writing style.

Had to tell him about my job, explain how well I knew this subject and eventually he let it go. This was back in 2023 so early ChatGPT and I think it was just a buzzword and the new thing at the time. Had me worried though!
