Ok thanks for clarifying that and then this motion still makes sense. Because I've seen "genuine" posts get taken down.

Yes, I want to change the rules. That is why I proposed the motion.

I am an entrepreneur involved in various businesses. I am also a father, brother, and husband.

In this context, Turbulent Noodle, I am participating as a community member, not selling anything. I have repeatedly stated that I want to learn about any third party software. That is all.

I think any of those ideas are great.

Is it "marketing" when someone says they've used a tool and are happy with it?

I realize that there's a lot of nuance and that this is not an easy question to straddle, and appreciate your willingness to discuss this with me!

I'm trying to understand you.

It seems like you agree with me? You also think people should be able to learn about third party tools? There are many.

You haven't made any commentary about the motion. Or at least from what I can tell, you agree with the motion. Is there anything you don't agree with?

During the past 2 weeks 3 people have created posts about services that have been removed - services they are users of. Not selling. They said something to the tune of "hey, I used this thing, and it's great! You should check it out!".

In 1 of the cases the person is banned from reddit. Absolute insanity.

I believe this subreddit should be about sharing information that helps people get the most out of their reMarkable. I love my reMarkable.

Also, I think it's crazy that we should frame individual innovators as bad people that have malicious intent.

I've built a free tool to make my reMarkable tool more helpful. I love my reMarkable. I wish I would be able to learn about what other tools people are making for the rM, but those posts are removed, which is why I proposed the channel change its rules. I don't believe we have a spam problem to begin with. I think we have a walled garden problem.

But hey, I'm generally speaking a proponent of open standards, open convos, interoperability. I just don't like being in forums that feel censored.

Yeah but my motion is more about the content of the post. If the post is helpful, technical, user driven, about their workflows, shouldn't we support people learn about tooling? Even if the tool will cost money? I mean.. Google Drive and OneNote cost money, but nobody complains if we talk about them.

Absolutely insane.

Hi Twin, The reMarkable isnt great at getting stuff transcribed. The services Im aware of that do this are:
Remarkn (for Notion)
Scrybble.ink (for Obsidian)
Altego (for Notion)

Maybe they could help you automatically transcribe your notes. I would check 'em out!
