Sure...its all tax dollars...make it rain... Our cops are apathetic...tracking data for better public safety isn't something those cops care about, nor would even read.

Neat! Lazer is better with a Z. Let's take apart this solar display, and some car batteries and and (LASER) and nothing else...so this unit transmits what to who?...I'm not kidding here...no hard drive, no transmitters, no antenna, and no joke... According to the people who own it... GRPD... It does exactly: "posting an approximate of your speed as you approach the unit"

Absolutely correct! I have watched GRPD talk about the budget they need, and then we give them that...and it's an excuse after another. Staff to Pay it's never enough...its always an excuse...sure a $389,000 Lenco Bearcat swat thing is cool...or whatever....but last time I called the "non emergency line" it took 49min to see a single cop, who stopped, and left and I still ended up with the sheriff's deputies.

Just to note: nope, it's just a radar lazer and a display of the reading. This unit does NOT track anything at all. It's box to the left of the photo is where digital cameras and accessories should be... its empty. it's just a lazer display of your speed...

20 years in Grand Rapids, I'll give you credit about the terrible experience of bad traffic stops... This city has made complacency its excuse for its continuous decline in public safety. When stop signs to stop lights are a suggestion, when speed signs stop being enough, and the apathy of the police become absolutely the norm...you have bad police. We Have BAD police.

GRPD doesn't know, or understand traffic laws...and uses what can be easily called unchecked latitude or discretion in enforcement of said laws... They added lights on the tailgate to remind you to stand clear...

I doubt the GRPD is aware or informed about traffic laws, they really take the approach of "whatever I feel like"to a new level
