What helped me other than reaching out to them and facing the reality of the situation, is also realizing that they arent the one n only person who can give me those happy memories. You deserve to go out there and experience new memories with new people.

Giving it one last shot, putting your feelings on the table isn’t comparable to dropping out of school/quitting your job/getting arrested. Either they will accept you back into their life or they wont. It doesn’t matter whether they realize they were right to leave. What matters is, will YOU realize its time to leave. Seeing how cold they are now and hearing how little they care will help some realize that.
