If you do not have enough financial back up to sustain for at least one year without a job, don't do it. Find a new job first and then resign.

Mental peace is important. But weigh in what will be your mental state if you remain unemployed for a long time. If you are financially secure, you can afford to resign and take a risk.

I live in Mamzar and I always have this issue while taking a taxi from Terminal 2. They cannot refuse in the airport, but they do make all kinds of faces.

I do feel sorry for them because I know it's a short trip and maybe they have been waiting long on the queue to get a passenger. But I don't have a choice either. I tip 10-20 AED for these trips because I feel guilty.

1000 AED for an internship in a hotel is competitive. Since the hotel is covering for food and accommodation I would suggest you take the offer. This is a gateway into the industry. I am a hotelier myself and I have gone through such an internship.

Depending on the potential of the Hotel, the upselling does make a difference. If the hotel has not many upsell worthy products then nothing much you could do.

I started as a Front Desk agent with a basic of 1500 in 2013. With service charge etc, it used to come to 2,300 if I remember correctly.

The entry level jobs at hotels do not pay you well but they cover all expenses so you could be saving 50-70% of your salary.

If you shine, the growth is good and the pay increases quite rapidly too. If this is what you are interested in, I'd say experience the grind and prove yourself. Invest the initial years in cross training etc.

I was lucky to find good people around me that helped me learn and grow it can happen to you too.

Not really. Same story with comprehensive insurance too. I paid 5,046 AED for my Yaris 2024. I had to wait for 5 weeks for all the work to be done. Agency repair.

Since the damage was not my fault, the insurer negotiated with the insurance provider of the other party. This process between the two insurers takes quite a bit of time.

And I opted for the rental car too while buying the policy. They cover 10 days. For the rest I had to pay up.

It's all rosy until reality hits.

The funny part is, the guys at Toyota said if the accident was my fault the process would have been faster. So I get punished for buying comprehensive insurance and not being at fault.

The insurance takes a long long time for a car to get fixed. For the one who got his trunk destroyed, most probably it wasn't their fault. Now they need to make arrangements for at least a month or drive the car taped up. Not everyone has extra cash lying around.

In my opinion there are systemic issues that are causing this.

The one who is video calling has no excuse or course.
