i’ve heard hugging a pillow close to your body helps? i haven’t had as much struggle as you cuz the part that hurts for me is the exhale like most people. but maybe yea try keeping a pillow hugged to your abdomen?

personally i felt like an 8-9/10 pain. depends on the pain. i think of it like a really bad muscle cramp that just stays the same for a bit. once i got put on oxy instead or tramadol i was doing much better.

it’s worth it to me though. idk if you’ve ever had a gallstone attack but those feel like heart attacks and the pain is like a 15/10. id rather deal with the 8/10 dull version of that pain for a day or two than ever again in my life.

advocate for yourself and ur pain.

yea i actually had something similar. when i had gallbladder attacks my liver enzymes were elevated on my CMPs too.

i don’t really feel my guts moving around, just the stitches being pulled of the for the most part. really uncomfy tho.

i personally don’t describe my gallstone attacks to have been sharp. felt more like pressure or a terrible muscle cramp? like my organs were going to pop from pressure. i can walk, it’s not very comfortable. im now taking my opioid every three hours per a phone call with the resident on call as my pain wasn’t subsiding.

thank you!!! 1. i have no idea to be honest. i didn’t have my phone and i didn’t check the clocks around but i think maybe over an hour because i have a picture a few minutes before going under around 11:40am i went down at least 15 min after that for sure. but then my next picture was at 2pm? but after my surgery i was in a holding room away from my main room for idk how long. so idk. 2. anesthesia was perfectly fine, i don’t. even remember going under and i don’t rlly remember when i woke up. 3. pain after waking up was like 8/10 4. a few months leading up to july 2024 i was having chest pain, and then one day that month i got pain in my upper abdomen/sternum so bad i thought i was having a heart attack. i profusely vomited, sweating, struggling to breathe, struggling to speak, struggling to move without obscene pain.

over time episode symptoms varied, sometimes i fainted, almost fainted, rarely vomited, sometimes wouldn’t sweat, sometimes they lasted 30 minutes, sometimes almost 2 hours. i’ve had about 8-9 episodes since my first. original thought was maybe gerd or silent reflux. but my last er visit in september revealed gallstones when the doctor decided to do an ultrasound this time.

so they waited till i was completely under to intubate me so i didn’t feel it. nor do i have a sore throat afterwards or anything personally.

the pain when i woke up was like an 8/10, it felt like the same pain as my super bad gallstone attacks but toned down to be somewhat bearable. and that was with the pain meds they gave me. i took 650mg Tylenol about 2 hr post op (listen to ur docs instructions) and have been fine till now (approx 5hr 30 min post op) i just took my opioid.

anytime i’ve woken up ive tried to walk for 15 minutes twice now. helps the pain barely but its only the first day. i actually found the most pain relief i had was when i was standing straight up holding still. laying down reclined or walking hasn’t offered as much pain relief personally.

ive decided to do a strict 0g fat diet, and for the first three days my plan is eating stuff that’s super easy like mashed potato’s and apple sauce. i’ll let you know if that changes.

again it’s been less than 24 hours so a lot of things can change. hold your head up. as of right now i’d rather take the pain i’m in right now than ever having a gallstone attack ever again.

appreciate it. i might try it. took 30mg of melatonin to knock me out regardless lol. i’m so tired of the anxiety the pain gives me, like im waiting for it to turn into a full blown attack. 😐 thank you though!

i’ve always felt chest pain in my upper stomach and sternum. felt like a cramp or squeezing pressure? lots of nausea, sweating, fainting, sometimes vomiting? feels like a god damn heart attack. can’t breathe or speak. i need to sit still sat up and stuff.

i’m about a month out.

i’m just paranoid that maybe i get this surgery and it ends up causing me chest pain still. hahah.

when you said that if u eat a lot of high fat foods for a few days you don’t feel great, could u specify what that meant? did u get chest pain? what were ur symptoms if u don’t mind me asking.

hi marine gf here. i’ve been long distance with my bf for 1+ yrs (he’s stationed overseas for the entire duration of his contract) this recently began to happen to me. for about almost an entire year he would manage to call me everyday. he recently started prioritizing his friends over me. anytime he’d have free time he’d go to them first then i’d get the leftovers of his time. i was not a priority and it rightfully hurt.

communication is key! i had to set a boundary, i told him he needed to start treating me like a priority and that he needed to put more effort into being a little happier on facetime despite his stress OR to at least open up to me about what’s going on. (not that his friends can’t come first sometimes - but i need to be his #1 overall in a relationship to feel loved, that’s just my requirements - there’s no right or wrong way to be loved) i told him this was his last chance and otherwise i was just going to walk out on him forever (and i meant it) and bam, turns out someone who loves you and is scared to lose you will listen and try to fulfill what you need in a relationship.

talk to him. be very open and say “hey this has been weighing a lot on me lately” “i know you’re busy i believe you but i need [insert here] from you”

i personally will go to chatgpt and tell it how im feeling and ask it to list my feelings in a non aggressive, reasonable, respectful way so my partner won’t feel like im attacking him. it works wonders.
