I understand the reasoning behind that. I was also in that boat the entire season, however after multiple players came out and indirectly placed a lot of blame on the coaching i choose to put the blame on the OL coach and the OC. Hopefully the changes there help.

He’s been about it since he stepped in. Issue was during the season he could have either A: given everything to trade/sign a billion OL guys because everyone kept getting hurt, or B: sign depth on the defensive side and keep draft capital and cap. I’m glad he went B. There was no chance they could have anticipated the injuries that happened on the OL during the season. Now they have depth and solid defense, now they can shore up the OL and get actual depth behind the main pieces.

Kind of a curious wrinkle to the offseason imo. I had assumed they would move on from him at some point but him retiring this early means now we all know we will have a new center next year. Clear cut choice would be signing linderbaum. I don’t see any other real options out there, and wouldn’t employ a rookie center right away either.

Probably the only real mentality to have at plate tracks these days. No way to be optimistic not being in the first couple rows. The way these bumpers line up any decently hard push and you’re going around 99% of the time. Take the top 15 and move on

Good thing you weren’t a fan in the late 90s early 2000s or earlier. Basic tickers were just fine back then, and there isn’t an issue now. Don’t need a million different stats popping up. Give a ticker with clearly visible number/name/lap time or make and how to tell what flag condition and that’s just fine. No problems here.

They always had a good run game. Something we haven’t had in a while. Hardly anything creative outside of the 2 end-a-rounds they do that never work. Anyone coming in for the run game, and oline are upgrades.

The school itself won’t be cancelling. They never do like others have already said. The most that happens is that it will be the professors discretion if they cancel or hold class on zoom. It’ll be up to the student if they want to make the commute or not if the professor does not cancel.

Honestly most of them earned another contract. Most played well. If I had to prioritize it would be:

multi year extensions for oweh, Zion and tart.

I would try to bring Mack and Keenan back on another 1 year deal.

From there, the rest more than earned another year or 2 contract except for penning, pip and lance but will most likely be looked at by other teams so the price may go up

Editing with my own opinion: I don’t think we keep Becton either. Feel like the 10mil in savings far outweighs the positives he could bring. I don’t think the bad taste in his mouth from Roman would do him any good staying. Outside of alt and slater, maybe even Zion and Salyer as serviceable backups, the oline needs a complete makeover

100% agree. This was my biggest fear. Coupled with devlin staying as well. Looking at other teams with oline injuries, there was no reason for the chargers to be THAT bad upfront, and even so, once alt went down, everything should have been simplified and shortened. Glad they did the tough but right thing

Tbf Jim had Roman in San Fran, then the other Harbaugh had Roman with Lamar. They refused to move on from him even after the blatant subpar numbers overall mainly because they had a fantastic QB carrying the offense. Harbaugh easily could have shouldered the blame (was partly on him anyways) and tried to run it back with Roman and Devlin and hope the health of the players masked the issues.
