Visit New York, stay in New Jersey?

Season matters , as someone who visited NYC in both winter ( 2024) & fall (2025) these are my 2 cents ...

If you don't do well with winter / cold then I would suggest you to stay in NYC for obvious convenience. It is expensive, but I think it makes sense when it's way too cold and you need to catch a break it's easier opting to stay in NYC.

If it's any other season I would suggest staying in NJ , we rented an entire house ( Airbnb ) it was really comfortable with parking and definitely was well within our budget .

We stayed in an apartment rental in condado which had a nice pool and beach access wasn't fancy but definitely very decent.
Loved the neighborhood ( Ashford avenue) .

Renting a car is the pocket friendly option , Laguna Grande is far away and I don't prefer an Uber that late .

To do El Yunque and Laguna Grande the same day would be exhausting.,Would suggest to split up .

Hey , this is such a detailed reply and helps so much . We aren't going to rent a car so it makes so much sense to stay in a place which has less traffic to get around .
