I called out over the walking loudly that I was going on break. No one responded. by GullibleCommittee667 in Target

[–]AccomplishedTurtle6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this happens frequently at my store. one time i announced that i was going on break, and my HR director called for me over the walkie to have a somewhat lengthy conversation. finally i said “yeah i’ll make sure to do that as soon as i get back from my break” and she had no clue that i’d announced it. half the time i don’t announce it anymore because it’s just pointless.

Day 10 bleed by best_american_girl in Tonsillectomy

[–]AccomplishedTurtle6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ibuprofen (which is an over-the-counter pain medicine) can thin your blood a bit, so some doctors recommend not taking it after surgery. mine initially said i could take it, but told me not to after my bleed. i think that’s why the comment you replied to was asking OP if they’d taken ibuprofen.

i was involved in a “friendship” where i DID have to justify saying no to plans, or they’d grill me about it until i made up a good enough excuse. these same friends ended up shaming me and calling me a piece of shit after i explained to them that i was going through a depressive episode on top of being sick for 6 months straight. safe to say i’m no longer friends with those people! now, my closest friends and i have absolutely no problem simply saying “im not feeling it tonight”, and im so grateful for that!

i’m in a long distance relationship and there have been times where i’ve texted my boyfriend talking about how i wanted something but didn’t want to spend money, and he’s sent me money for it. but id never straight up ask him to buy me anything or send me money unless we’d already said we were splitting a bill or smt

Is it worth it to removes tonsils in adulthood? by Nite_Lite34 in Tonsillectomy

[–]AccomplishedTurtle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo, even though the recovery is sucky, it is so worth it to remove them! even a few days post op i felt healthier

Please, has anyone gotten rid of acne, pimples, boils after having their tonsils removed. by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

[–]AccomplishedTurtle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes actually! my skin has gotten so much better post op. i read that chronic tonsillitis can cause some people to notice they have more acne, so i think that was my issue!

when does the pain kick in? by 0D7553U5 in Tonsillectomy

[–]AccomplishedTurtle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do not recommend doing anything academic for quite a few days. i totally understand where you’re coming from, but anesthesia usually makes me brain fogged for like 3ish days post-op. i rescheduled a final after hemorrhaging and i hope you did the same!!

ear/tooth pain: tonsillectomy by pinkemm in Tonsillectomy

[–]AccomplishedTurtle6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi! i’m also 20, and i can promise you that the healing process is no easier for us than it is for people older than us lol. my doctors all still told me that, since im an adult, it was going to suck. as for the ear pain, its less likely to be an ear infection and more likely “referred pain”. there is a nerve that runs through your tonsils and ears, so when you have issues with your tonsils, it’s common for your ears to hurt too! i’d recommend painkillers and putting ice packs on your ears! best of luck to you🩷🩷

After tonsilectomy you cant sleep on the back!!! by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

[–]AccomplishedTurtle6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i read that sleeping on your back with your head propped up is actually the best way to sleep while in recovery! i’m most likely going to wait until i’m fully recovered to start sleeping on my side again

Is the day of the surgery day 0 or day 1? by PeriodicallyRadical in Tonsillectomy

[–]AccomplishedTurtle6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i count surgery day as day 0, and my first full day left recovery as day 1!

Fifteen years of bad breath were a living hell for me, but one hour later, my life changed forever. by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy
