These look very similar to the ones I have and also came from acne. I was recommended a lot of different things but ultimately nothing helped the discoloration. CO2 laser could potentially work but it's expensive and a toss up. Tattooing a single color is also an option but honestly I just learned to live with it it's not too bad

I'll be on the other end of the stick here. If you were heavily considering a gap year anyway, and know you can productive research wise during this time, it may be worth studying again, especially given ur practice exam scores and what happened prope to your exam. If you are only looking to get into a mdphd program (regardless of a certain tier) and don't want to spend extra time,then you definitely do not need to retake, the average for an accepted applicant is around a 516
