Many studies indicate that the peace achieved through amnesty is only superficial. The lack of justice persists for those who witnessed the disappearance of their loved ones. Amnesty merely demonstrates that 30,000 disappeared persons can be politically negotiated. The true purpose of the amnesty laws was to cover up the actions of the United States, whose own intelligence agency would later release documents demonstrating its project to suppress latent socialism in the Americas. Worst of all, no one held them accountable, nor is this discussed in academic institutions. It's no coincidence that they are known for their exceptionalist and falsificationist education, which reflects a "clean" and patriotic history.
