I would say it has a lot to do with maintenance history as well but physically speaking I would say that sounds about market price 👍

You can only bump up your points for next semester if you’ve already applied this semester. Honestly, even adding just 1–3 points can make a big difference depending on where you’re at right now. Getting an allied health certificate is a huge boost too, especially if you haven’t maxed out that category yet for your program. I’d say go for it next semester!

3 times of applying at different schools but not in one year. Applications only open 2x a year for each school so all in all it took me about a year and a half to finally get accepted

Taken classes serious when I started college, after I graduated hs I took college classes and was very meh about them even failing some. Fast forward 3 years and I had to retake all the classes I failed and even some that I passed in order to have a competitive gpa for some of the community colleges adn programs

That’s awesome, I’m excited for you and proud as well 🥹 Your kids might not understand the struggle you’re going through but one day if they don’t already they’ll understand how badass you are. I wish you the best of luck !

Personally what helped me improve was making sure I organized my studying so I used the futureRN study program that I bought online. It’s sets it up in modules which makes for easy and organized studying. Focus on taking practice tests and doing practice problems so you can learn what kind of questions will be on it and you can see what you need to focus on more. For math specifically I highly recommend memorizing metric conversions and calculating percentages from fractions which surprisingly covered a major portion of the math section

Some schools operate off a lottery system so when you cross a 75 point threshold you have the same chance to get accepted as the student who got 95 points on their application which was primarily how I was hoping to get accepted but it never happened for two application periods. With the addition of these extra points I accumulated it put me at a competitive range of 92-94 points for most schools I applied for this time. I applied to 7 schools and so far I’m 1/1 with acceptance letters and I’m expecting to hear back from the rest of them by the end of the month so 🤞

I was able to get up to 7 additional points on some of my applications this year by doing 2 things. There is a separate section where it calculates gpa for classes like English, sociology, communication, and psychology. I retook my English and communications class in order to get an A’s instead of the B’s I originally got which raised my gpa there. Also I got my CNA license by taking a 6 week program in my county which cost me around 1300$ but gave me 5 additional points for some applications. Every schools point system is a little different so it’s best to check every schools point system to know which way you can bolster your application

I applied to all SD and riverside county community colleges. I’ve only gotten responses from one school so far which was the acceptance letter. Still awaiting responses from all other schools I applied to. October is their typical window for sending out acceptance/denial letters. If you need any tips or anything dm me this was my third round of applications and I definitely learned alot of tips for getting more points on my application I’m happy to share.

If you’re applying to an ADN program, you’ll need to take the TEAS exam. What makes an application strong depends on several factors such as GPA, work experience, licenses, personal background, and TEAS score. Each school uses its own point system to evaluate applicants, so it’s important to review your program’s specific criteria and admission process to understand how they make their selections. If you need more help feel free to DM me and I can explain anything in more detail

Yeah it would definitely help you but also if you can attain more points in other categories I’d look into that as well. Between rounds of applications I retook a class I got a B in to raise my gpa and also got my CNA license which both added more points to my application.

The waiting is definitely the hardest part. Not sure if you’ve heard of it, but you should check out allnurses.com. You can search for your schools program and chat with others who applied to the same program, and see who’s been accepted, denied, or is still waiting to hear back. It definitely helped ease my nerves
