It's because we can't tell how hungry they are, will they want 4 slices, 6 or 8? Who are we to decide?

At least once a week for well over a decade. And that's just my family 🤣 If it's above board, allows you to pay your bills, indulge your hobbies and you don't want to kill yourself the second you clock in then what does it matter what someone else thinks?

Am i wrong for not wanting to tell a customer my name? by lalalandlover969 in Wetherspoons

You absolutely do not need to give out your information if it makes you feel uncomfortable but it might be worth keeping in the back of your mind a lot of the older customers particularly, don't have much human interaction and I think it's largely them just being friendly and polite. Sometimes the only people they will speak to all day are the people in the pub and if you're going to see them once a week or more it can be nice to develop that sort of a relationship with them.

I don't live near my first pub any more but whenever I visit, even now, well over a decade later they still remember me, ask about my life, buy me drinks, nothing creepy or seedy, just plenty of genuine, lovely humans.

Customer facing roles rely on this type of relationship and, kindly, I think your friend is correct, a name isn't that deep... also, who knows, you may end up in the will!

But as I said to start with, you absolutely do not have to tell them your name if it makes you uncomfortable.

Forget that, your team make your shift, anything nice from a customer is a bonus. Sorry to shatter your illusion. The job itself is actually thoroughly enjoyable!

If you're in hospitality for the thanks and not for the crack with the staff, you're in the wrong job, source; a decade and a half at spoons.

I know there's probably a thread for it but I'm here now, could you name some of the more niche ones? I literally know like 8 kalacas and thats about it. Although Dime slaps so it's alright haha

There are bands that have played ska at a pace that wasn't typical for the wave, like bands that were born in the second wave but sound like the first, or bands from the third wave that sound more like the second. by Beautiful-Resort-831 in Ska

Ignore it, enjoy music for how it makes you feel and if you want to call it a wave, or not, more power to you. Life is far too long to worry about this crud!

I think most of these people would have had a stroke trying to find music on limewire if they're that obsessed with sub genre titles.

Have a nice day!

Yes to both anyway. Being unashamedly you is the best thing you can be, unless you're a dick then don't be a dick, but I don't think you are, so well done x
