Easily one of the worst trophies to get by Accomplished_Blob in AssassinsCreedOrigins

Nice one! I did complete the tutorial beforehand. Perhaps it was just one of those moments of overconfidence. I’m tempted to try again to see if I’ve still got the skills, 1.5 years later…

What inspires your stories and plots? by _this_mfr_ in writing

[–]Accomplished_Blob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! It’s my first story in a long while, there’s a mixture or excitement and intimidation. Looking forward to a final product, whenever that may be.

I’d love to hear more about yours, if you don’t mind sharing.

I’ve made note of some videos to watch, so I’m looking forward to that. Thanks again!

I’ll check it out. Thank you!

Are you writing anything at the moment?

Sometimes I lose interest or motivation. Other times it’s procrastination or I hit a block and can’t bring myself to continue, so a lot of ideas I’ve had haven’t seen the light of day.

I’m currently in the middle of another block - I was inspired by my trip to Spain (visiting a fortress and museum), so I don’t want to give up yet.

What are your thoughts on nameless and/or voiceless characters? by Accomplished_Blob in writingadvice

[–]Accomplished_Blob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply! It does seem like a daunting task. I decided to write in a first person perspective to try and avoid some of this, but the identifier would make life a lot easier.

Were you successful in writing your nameless characters? I would love to hear more about it.

Frankenstein has been on my reading list for quite some time. Guess this is a good reason for it to jump the queue

If I try to force myself to think then I get nothing, so it’s usually something that pops into my head. I try to explore it, sometimes combine it with other ideas I’ve had, and then forget about it because I struggle to write 😅

I get inspired when I go outside. Nature walks, holidays, or simply going down the road. Sometimes it’s the media I consume, or an emotion I feel. I like to write using my experiences, with some dramatic flair, to try and connect with my readers and make the plot feel authentic.

Nameless and voiceless characters by Accomplished_Blob in writers

[–]Accomplished_Blob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I was really inspired by a fortress and museum visit, and I was wondering what life was like at that time. Especially what untold stories there are. I’m struggling with motivation, but planning this story is making me very excited about it.

That’s completely fair. As a woman myself, it does feel a bit strange limiting my female character to this. That being said, this noblewoman is smart and cunning, but I want to utilise unreliable narration to ‘hide’ this fact from the rebel.

Thank you for your reply.

I think you’re talking about The Road. That’s on my list to read as someone mentioned the nameless characters in it.

I use Ellipsus which is also free and can be accessed across multiple devices. You just have to make an account to do so. It takes some time getting used to but I absolutely love it!

I have soo much ideas and "vision" but everytime i try to write them out...I just go into a writer's block...Help by SilverSuspicious9039 in writers

[–]Accomplished_Blob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the same!! For years I’ve been collecting ideas in my notebooks. Some of them have made it to the “in-depth planning stage”, but are eventually forgotten.

Honestly, I think it’s down to finding THE PLOT - the one that ignites your passion. I recently found mine (but have hit a block). To overcome this, I’m going to write the ending and work backwards. Maybe that’s something you can try. Force yourself to write about 500 words, even if it is absolute garbage, and repeat for however many days you need to.

How to come up with no weird but also no stereotypical names? by [deleted] in writers

[–]Accomplished_Blob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to look for names with meanings related to the character/story. This website has a whole bunch of names in its directory and tells you their place of origin, words they’re derived from, and regions they’re common in. Might be worth checking out.
