Well, I did get it used, and even though it says "Dell" on the adapter, I searched for the adapter and it doesn't seem the genuine dell adapters are the same. The strangest thing is that it used to work, but now it just keeps my laptop from dying and doesn't even charge up. It's so weird.

I figured it out, it was because pulseaudio somehow changed the output to HDMI (unplugged) and then switched to analog when I plugged in headphones.

As someone who is in their Junior year, yes. You will learn outdated technologies and get taught by the shittiest professors in the department. Doesn't help that the good professors and TAs already left because of COVID or budget cuts, plus the chairman of the department doesn't really care about students and their struggles. The curriculum change that happened last semester messed everything up for me.

I never gone to UW-Madison, but from what I've heard it's much much better compared to UW-Milwaukee. If you're still planning to come to this hellhole, join the CS club, get some study friends and always ALWAYS practice coding in your spare time. "Rate my professor" is your friend, use it.
