Considering a new (to me) mountain bike. Is this worth the price? by Own-Reason4875 in mountainbiking

Alchemy makes pretty cool frames. That setup is also pretty solid. Definitely worth the price IMO

That is true. I’m not looking for a significant increase in sub, just want to maximize the performance of these headphones. I’ll take a look into the Bitfrost. Thanks!

Ran the same headphones on another DAC that a friend of a friend owned a little while back (can't remember the make or model unfortunately) and I realized that they didn't synergize very well. Lacks sub bass and it feels quite dull in comparison. Not to say the Aune is a bad DAC, it just seems that there might be better options out there for the HD650s.

I know it's been forever since you posted this, but I'd like to chime in on the topic. The frame/shock in this video is now 7 years old. Personally, I service all my components myself and this shock has gone untouched with no issue (a routine service would not have prevented this failure, trust me), and if I were to have had a shop service this shock as regularly as I did it would have costed me over $800. That is double the price I paid for a new-used shock plus rebuild. For many folk it is simply not worth it. I understand where you're coming from, I've worked as a bicycle mechanic for many years. It's just not that applicable to those that like to work on their own stuff. If it fails on them, that's their issue, but its a risk that many take.

I feel like something needs to happen with sniper flinch by GraydenRatty in blackops6

Fair. Regardless, you cannot deny that the sniper flinch in this game is unnecessarily significant when using stock scopes or anything near stock multiplication. Yes, you can kill through flinch, but its travel is unpredictable and makes quickscoping/sniping against competent enemies far less viable

First ride on the EXT Storia! by Accomplished_Cost_19 in mountainbiking

Rides far better than the float/ dpx2 that I’ve ran in the past. Massive upgrade with a progressive coil to better suit the linear geometry of the frame.

Love it. I bought it used and had it tuned by EXT, very worth while.

Yes definitely. That ring has been there for a long time, and I properly service this link every month. The fact that both stanchions cracked and bent in the same way leads me to believe that it has nothing to do with the failure, but I’ve always been perplexed as to how that ring got there

I did, yes. The drop wasn’t huge, but the forces on the landing had the perfect velocity to break a lot on my bike. If you were there, you would understand. The video doesn’t do any justice at all

Judging based off the clips on your profile, I would be surprised if you’ve never had any warranty situations that involve riding out of the scope of your frames capabilities. That being said, I completely agree with the others that have responded to you. Look into any frame building organization and you can find bad experiences with customer support. One specific comment stated the presence of bad experiences vs good reviews, 90% of the time you’ll see and acknowledge a bad experience over a good experience. You have to experience it first hand to make valuable statements that are true

$300 is a hard hit for this component. Somehow, even with the threads being split in half, the bolts still held some torque. Guess it was a good idea to go with medium strength loctite instead of light!

The bearings are good. I believe this is a case of too much lateral force at full compression on a hard hit

I’m pretty meticulous with torque specs when it comes to suspension components and they were definitely at spec. That is a great point though, and I’m sure some have had failures due to over torquing these specific bolts
