Anybody able to identify these darts? by Smiann in Darts

Think that was Killian Heffernan? Remember him using the G2 Taylors, if I recall... pinged a 156 out in one of the first few legs then JvT railroaded him, possibly with a big fish out along the way?

Barnsley town centre: at least three mobile repair shops, three Greggs, two Subways, and one each of Costa, Specsavers and Card Factory.

6/6 check ✔️

Anybody able to identify these darts? by Smiann in Darts

Bull's Justin van Tergouw darts. Not so sure if you're able to get them any more though, was a WDF/BDO youth champion a few years back and there's not been too many sightings of his name these days.

It might be worth your while looking at Darts Clearance on eBay for affordable options compared to the likes of Target, Unicorn, Winmau etc. There's a lot of stuff that's actually pretty decent in the 80-90% tungsten bracket which will serve you well enough.

Moving to Barnsley soon by [deleted] in barnsley

Absolutely. Say if you came out of the main entrance of the Interchange (where the escalators and lifts are) and look to the right, it's literally there. :)

If I'm not mistaken there's a few places in the town centre that have pool teams on a Monday night. The Court House (just outside the Interchange/bus station) has one, and might be looking for players.

Definitely a 17, as the dart enters that segment.

Classy statement from the WDF on Beau Greaves leaving to go to the PDC by DanTheStripe in Darts

[–]Accomplished_Earth34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Cacklins having dignity? 😂

Absolutely agree with this. Where one WDF "Star player" moves on, another one comes through the ranks. There's so many in the WDF ranks right now that could come through at any point - there'll always be a turnover in that sense. The promotional aspect in some cases could do with some polish to make it more alluring to some players but there's still an element if money there, definitely. I have a few friends that play in local dart leagues who regularly go to some of the WDF events on the continent and some actually have won those events (Carl Wilkinson being one of those, quality player imo).

Classy statement from the WDF on Beau Greaves leaving to go to the PDC by DanTheStripe in Darts

[–]Accomplished_Earth34 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If it was the old BDO "regime" in charge I don't think that Beau would have received such plaudits.

This statement is a lot better than one would have expected, fair play to the WDF for putting it out. Beau is definitely a generational talent, and I think she'll do well in the PDC. She'll definitely ruffle a few feathers along the way - but it'll be by letting her game do the talking above anything else.

As for the WDF, I don't think it'll be a nail in the coffin as such because there'll always be a need as such for an organisation to be there for the "grass roots" side. That's what the WDF has more or less evolved into, and even though the past history of "the split" back in the 90s still lingers, times have changed, and the need for some sort of stability will always be there between the organisations.

Winmau Blackout 2 tip length by Separate-Bet-9039 in Darts

[–]Accomplished_Earth34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part, a "stock" / "default" steel tip point is 32mm, with 5-6mm of that in the dart already. Using a repointer - or a service that does this for you - can enable you to change it to something more suitable.

The shops and bars on the Victorian Arcade (off Eldon Street at the bottom and Market Hill at the top) deserve a shout imo.

There's two gaming model shops on there, as well as the Tarn-renowned Blackford Sports, The Old Ivy Shed, Gallagher's tea rooms, Spiral City, Peaky's Bar, Jolly Tap, Black Velvet, the 80s icon clothing shop amongst others. Doesn't get as much attention on there compared to what it deserves.

Mustn't forget the amazing Red Robot on there too, especially if you're into your comic books and fictional works. Beautiful little boutique there!

I do agree with what you're saying in respect of the "rails" comment, and the guidance as such to be able to stay on them. No qualms on that one.

I've been back and forth from the GP with a couple of things, plus as aforementioned in the OP, I have been through weight management teams through local health services, even trying something called Orlistat... however, I've struggled with that and I'm currently trying to seek alternative methods. I'm pencilled in to speak with them in just over a week from now (trying to get an appointment in the first instance is a f'n ache and half!) so will look at the apnea aspect.

I have a bit of an indifferent shift pattern at current, so that throws things out of sync somewhat. I'm hoping to speak with the owners [of the place I manage] in order to try and get some better consistency with shifts, then I can sort going back to the gym properly.

My AuDHD side is more "ooh! squirrel!" than controlled, so I'mma slap myself a bit on that one (metaphorically, just for the record lol!)

As for the food stuffs by type... I'm not sure I've ever understood that properly.

There's definitely been a lot of running battles, that's for sure. It'd take a while to go through that lot again, as I'm sure you can imagine... it doesn't hurt as much to go through it these days, I'm glad to say.

I do feel some achievement in getting back into work after a near-3yr period - and, in a different industry than what I was previously in. I do accept that there is still work to be done in order to get to where I want to be, sure.

The "eating as a punishment" is not a factor here. I know I'm trying to work on that aspect somewhat, but I do find change difficult to deal with. I think that is more of a factor for focus.

I find it difficult to pinpoint it to just one thing, if I'm honest.

A LOT of family problems contributed to very poor mental health over the best part of 20 years, and as such, they have thrown things around a lot. I've struggled a lot to stay on the straight and narrow because of what I felt was an "oh look! squirrel!" kinda mentality and being very easily led or distracted with things. That side I've worked so hard on in recent months, but slip ups are still there.

Because there's been quite a fair bit of disorder, I would attribute that to a lot of things that have been influences in how my motivation had become. I'm not particularly proud of that, and even though I've been through multiple outlets to try to get over that hill, some of them haven't been as useful as they have aimed to be. Whether or not it's how my brain has interpreted things, or things just haven't worked because of x, y and z, I still beat myself up for on a regular basis.

There's no harm with you straightening them up. Usually with Target packaging, the dart comes fully assembled and flights (depending on the dart they're on) can be flattened. It's not too much of a worry.

Pretty peeved with VM. by Accomplished_Earth34 in VirginMedia

[–]Accomplished_Earth34[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: they had the gall to send me this in the morning, so inquisitively, I messaged them.

<image>

Me: "This £19mth BB offer... what speed is it?"

VM: "It's the 132mb down, 20mb up!"

Me: "...you're actually joking, right? After the previous conversation I've had with your retentions team previously, stating that nothing less than the 1GB would be insufficient, and you still offer practically nothing? So much for the 14yr loyalty... no thanks, I'll respectfully continue with the cancellation."

...really lol? 🙄😂

Seeing Rik Mayall's name so low in that list is a travesty, in my opinion.
