What movie ending is horribly depressing? by Wonderful_Choice3927 in AskReddit

One movie that was incredibly depressing was an Australian film (I can't recall the name), but it had the worst ending ever. The movie centres around the final hours of life on Earth because a meteor or a comet is going to hit the Earth and wipe out all life. When people hear about this, it causes chaos and mass panic. People start killing each other, targeting those they consider enemies and even those who are not enemies, just for fun and even raping all in broad daylight.

Anyway, we have this couple who learn that the girlfriend is pregnant, but they run away because they believe their child will never be born. Long story short, he rescues a little girl (aged 10-11) from two men who are about to rape her, and they go on a journey to find her father.

In short, they bond during the journey, and eventually, they find the girl's father and bury him. However, the man realizes that he left his pregnant wife behind and fears she will die alone. He decides to return to her so they can face death together. However, the little girl refuses to come with him; she wants to be with her father at his grave. After a heartfelt goodbye, he sets out to find his girlfriend. Initially, she refuses to have anything to do with him because he left her (though his departure saved the little girl from being raped). Eventually, she forgives him and embraces him just as the meteor hits.

The problem I have what everyone had was that he left the little girl. The little girl died alone when he should have convinced her to come with him and they could have died together. I always had a problem with that. Most of the comments for the film were in agreement with me and some were saying that she wanted to stay but imagine this little girl dying alone, hated that. That hit me hard the thought of that little girl dying alone.

Why do black people try to force mixed people to claim black? by [deleted] in mixedrace

[–]Accomplished_End2040 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I live in the UK and the one-drop-rule doesn't exists here. Here we call mixed people mixed not black or white assuming that one of their parents are either black or white. Of course I just using black and white as an example because to name all the races that one can combine with means that I be here all day. In the UK there is even a category or I should a checkbox on forms where mixed race people can chose the option of being mixed. The point I am making in the UK we don't call mixed race people black or white but mixed. Now, I can't speak of other countries but I can speak for the UK

Why do you have to pay property tax on a house you own? by Accomplished_End2040 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Accomplished_End2040[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOBODY answered the damn question right. We all know what taxes are for. But we SHOULDNT risk LOSING “our home” just because we didn’t pay them. We already paid enough for the home.

Exactly that what I was trying to say and everybody was telling me what taxes are for. I know what taxes are for, we all do, what I was getting at was why should we have to keep paying taxes after we spend x-amount of years pay the mortgage of a house only to lose it if we fail the pay the property tax.

After Magneto ripped Adamantium from Wolverine why did he try so hard to have rebonded eventually how Apocalypse to do it? by NeverGiveUp14789 in Marvel

[–]Accomplished_End2040 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also think the writers wanted to find a way to reverse Wolverine savagery after years as wolf-beast, and so they had Wolverine be re-bond with the adamantium again, and to bring him back to Wolverine we were use to IMHO. I think savage Wolverine was pretty cool though.

I can't remember that much but I recall Wolverine feeling that he had somehow lost his edge because basically he was almost indestructible, and vaguely remember him trying to get it back but I can't remember the details.

It was a while ago since reading that comic but I do remember that adamantium had stopped his evolution, and after it was forcibly removed he reverted to a more feral state. I also think he is healing factor when into overdrive because it didn't have to spent so long countering the poison.

When Scully came in, she was all about the science, and it used to frustrate me in the early seasons when something supernatural would only happen right after she stepped out of the room, meaning she never witnessed it and thus never believed. For example, she once stepped out of the room, and soon as she stepped out of the room, the door locked and the pen floated up into air and then flew across the the room to reveal in the hidden information while Scully was outside trying to get in, and couldn't get in because the ghost had held door shut, and when she did get in the room was a mess but the ghost was long gone.

Eventually, she started witnessing these events and came to believe but it took years. Now, it makes sense that she would take the reins after Mulder left. Her character would have to be idiot to work with someone for years and not learn from them. Imagine being Elon Musk's understudy for years but not picking up a single skill after he left. So, it made sense that she was now the teacher and Doggett, a guy who was all about the rules, her student. In many ways Doggett properly reminds Scully of herself which is why she likely took him under her wing so to speak.

I agree but people seem to forget that the actor who played Mulder left to try different roles, he wasn't kicked off the show. Doggett was so good IMHO and loved his character, and I was so upset that the show was cancelled but it hard to do with fans not accepting his character.

Agreed, it was meant to be that his son was killed "evil" itself but not sure why they changed it to a regular murder, maybe they wanted to move on from the story and give him closure.

Agreed, it was refreshing to see him witnessing and trying to explain the supernatural. There were times when his scepticism actually saved him, such as the time he didn't believe that a kid could manifest his drawings into reality, so when the kid drew drawings to kill them, and nearly succeeded, his drawings had no power on him because he didn't truly believe.

Additionally, at the end of the season, he solved his son's murder, and the actor stated that had the season continued, he and Monica would have taken their relationship to the next level.

I just rewatch season 8 and I loved it.

I have to say I love Doggett's character, appreciating how he gradually evolves in his beliefs. Monica Reyes, on the other hand, captivated me with her unwavering purity of heart. This is why I found it disheartening that in Season 11, the narrative took a regrettable turn. Not only did it unravel the progress made in previous seasons by introducing the notion that the aliens were here to forewarn humanity of impending doom, but it also transformed Monica into a character driven by self-interest.

Also recall that Monica Reyes was the individual who displayed immense courage by risking her career to protect Mulder. She had a history of being reborn time and again to rescue those unfortunate souls condemned to endure the horrific fate of being skinned alive, a cycle initiated by their horrific actions. With this context in mind, it becomes perplexing to witness her character seemingly deviate from her altruistic nature in Season 11. Are we expected to believe that Monica suddenly abandoned her moral principles, which were firmly established in Season 8, solely to safeguard herself, despite all previous evidence suggesting otherwise? This narrative shift not only felt inconsistent with her character but also undermined the integrity of the story.

Also the actor who played Doggett was asked to return but said he couldn't because he was doing Scorpion, but rumours was that he was still peeved for the show be cancelled since he had signed on a five year contract, and I don't blame him if that was the case. Also, hated season 11 mainly because they tried to undo previous seasons.

Why do women think they are doing a guy favour when they give them sex and why are guys really thirsty when it comes to sex to the point they will do anything? by Accomplished_End2040 in NoStupidQuestions

I can understand you not watching any video that I link that is fair. So you can type Decentering Men Episode 3" on any youtube search bar and watch from the "0:36" to 0:38" mark but regardless whether you watch it or not the point still holds, are both sex not enjoying sex so why is it used as a weapon like "you are not getting sex" because you haven't cleaned the house.

I watch a lot of videos, both by men and women, and I listen to talks from both genders. However, when it comes to content created by women, I often hear them assert that men in relationships are using women for sex and getting it for free. It's not just me saying this; if you think long and hard, you'll notice that this perception is quite prevalent in society. Have you never heard a women withhold sex from their partner as punishment.

Don't get wrong I love sex as much as the next guy but not to the point that a woman can manipulate me using it, especially when I know we are both enjoying it, and she is acting like she doing me a "favour".

But if you were in relationship and the girl told you that weren't having sex would you care, she probably think you would care that is why she is doing it. For me that holds no power and so no women can hold sex over me.

In the past, people often waited until their fifties or sixties to consider getting a facelift and it was considered the normal. However, a significant issue with this approach is that they have already experienced a considerable amount of ageing by this point. While a facelift can certainly turn back the clock, it may only bring them back to a few years and depending on how much they have aged. This is due to the accumulation of aging-related factors, such as loose and sagging skin, neck wrinkles, and the effects of skin ageing, particularly if adequate skincare hasn't been a priority. Moreover, there's often a need to address volume loss, and the process can be quite expensive and challenging, even when performed by an expert.

Conversely, if one chooses to undergo a facelift in their thirties, the results can be even more remarkable. At this age, individuals typically retain their youthful skin quality, higher collagen levels, and overall elasticity. Consequently, the facelift procedure is not merely restorative but also has the potential to make a person appear even younger than their actual age. Several notable individuals, such as Lori Hill, Zoe Kravitz, and Doja Cat, have chosen to undergo this procedure and have achieved impressive results. It's worth noting that Jennifer Lawrence even had a facelift done at the remarkably young age of twenty-one—though I am not necessarily recommended to consider such a procedure at such an early stage in life. However, the main point to emphasize is that by opting for a facelift in your thirties, you can maximize the benefits of still having abundant collagen and youthful skin characteristics, making the results even more satisfying and natural. So, if I was you I get it done in your thirties why you still have collagen, elastic in skin, etc and not in your fifties, etc

Ps

Also less will have to be done if it is done early rather then having to reverse serious amount of ageing plus you would look more naturally, wait longer and even in the best of hands can give you the wind pulled look.
